I had a coworker tell me I was a sinner when I told him I usually go about 10 MPH over the speed limit on the highway on my way to work. He was dead serious that knowingly speeding is not only unlawful it's a sin. I didn't agree.

Cops disagree with you.

A lot of people like to make up their own interpretations of God's will, sounds like this guy is one of them.

Seriously?

Thou shalt not speed.

I would think not..

Thou shalt not slay more than 12 dove birds per day...

Maybe?

To speak to this moronic coworker ever again... that would indeed be a sin.

Shunning the stupid is ABSOLUTELY NOT A SIN.

Ask ol'slowpoke why He created combustion engines capable of high speeds. On second thought nevermind if ol'boy thinks speed is Sin my neighbor with his twin Roadrunners one stroked 383 other 440 and my first truck with the 460 and Holley carb might overdose on sanctimony. I know modern cars are safer but when trouble arises that right foot down and a V8 response grants me a inner peace.Plus folks tend to avoid a 4500 lb vehicle at speed quickly. Florida has a runover rioters law I think. Honda Accord or Buick Gsx? I know my pick.

Only if the police catch you.

Maybe your coworker is confusing people’s concerns with God’s concerns.

Is speeding a sin? Depends on how good a driver you are.

For some, driving itself is a sin.

Probably, but who hears it...?

The Left thinks like that all the time.... wink

Kinda hard for me to get used to it...

But, they not guilty even WHEN they get caught....

Sin with the right pedal, repent with the left.

You end up in neutral.

Is repenting of your sins required to stop at a red light?

Only if you think of the state as god.

I don't.

RS308MAX: I do NOT know if speeding is a sin, but after spending nearly 29 years professionally investigating "accidents" I do know this = "speeding does NOT cause every accident but speeding makes EVERY accident worse"!
Slow down and arrive alive is my motto.
Hold into the wind

Speeding's not a sin, but driving slow in the passing lane is.
Posted By: ShaunRyan Re: Is speeding a "sin"? - 12/16/21
Can of worms.

It's up to you to determine whether or not the laws of society, and the enforcement thereof, are just and moral or arbitrary.

Me. I go with what's appropriate and safe for the driving conditions at hand; if everyone's doing 10 over the limit in heavy conditions and you're doing the speed limit, you're a road hazard, and not righteous.

If it's snowing hard in heavy traffic and you're trying to do the limit while everyone else is 10 under, you're not righteous.

Most of my vehicles have two pedals.
One of them mofo's needs to be mashed to the floor at all times.

My Challenger has three pedals though, but it's driven with a similar concept. Pegs the fun meter, but for some reason the damn tires don't last long. whistle

Yes, but so is most everything. Try not to hurt anybody and accept God's grace.
