I go to the local truck stop for breakfast several times a week.

Once it gets cold better than half of the farmers and ranchers there are either wearing Stormy Kromer's OR Filson wool caps (has great ear flaps). Yes the Fudd look is strong but we are warm when needed!

The Filson caps in waxed cotton might be OK, but, I bought one in orange fabric/wool lined for deer/elk hunting and the wind rips right through it. Hard Pass for me on the Filson for cold weather.

Walmart has the best caps. I’m only out $4.48 when the dogs eat it.

I wear a Lowe Mountaineering hat. Looks like a Stormy Kromer with better ear flaps. I love it when its cold. I wear a SK when my ears won't freeze as mine is the kind that only covers the upper half of them.

I suspect that half the ranchers in western South Dakota and SE Montana wear hats city folk would laugh at but they keep your ears intact and your head warm.

This is all we need on here, a male "Karen" that hates certain hats because he imagines stuff.

In eastern MT you see alot of Kromer style hats on the real ranchers. Most popular seems to be Lake of the Isles brand. With the earflaps down they are warm and cut the wind like a wall.
