Austin, may be doing well, the HEB here on the Border has a lot of empty shelves. Rio7

Yep, came home from Sam's Monday with 40+ pounds of beef, chicken & pork.

Wife later fussed that we should have gotten that $30 pack of burger we saw.

Stocking up doesn't seem to be for shortages as much as current price.

Picked up 20 pounds of shrimp 2 days ago. Big bastards. 16 to 20 count. Peeled and deveined. Tail on. $8.49/pound. Not bad for around here.

Yeah, it's hit and miss on what they have, or when they have it.

Fresh produce is pretty good still, but simple other things are not there at times.

Wife went to get some frozen potato stuff last week. Not there. No frozen hash brown patties, or even tater tots of any brand.

I'm afraid this problem is just getting started...

You Tennessee boys supposed to get some snow tomorrow? Weather channel says 8 to twelve inch accumulation here in NC.

HEB must be doing a stellar job of keeping the big metropolis markets stocked well.

Shortages have been ongoing even at their HEB Plus stores here.

BTW, HEB isn't what it was even 20 years ago. The kids have taken over management of it. I see clear signs of wokeness...

Same here at Dollar General...

Didn't try Food Lion... changing into clean pajamas just to shop won't worth the trouble.

That pic is from our food lion

Oddly enough, our DollaGen has two milk cases and both were topped off and well stocked on most everything else.

Got to love DG

Publix, here in North Fl as well as in Miami has a huge amount of outages daily. On a recent trip, about 30% of my list was out of stock. Even more items required accepting a substitute. Nothing new, it’s been this way for a year now. And the prices……….
Posted By: JohnnyLoco Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
MoFo gives you a shot of the organic isle.

Trust me, HEB has many things in short supply and they compensate by adding other items to fill the space.

All in all they do a great job at keeping a supply.
Posted By: 158XTP Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
Same across most the world at the moment and its only the beginning. Even our country which grows enough veges, fruit and stock animals to feed a country much larger than us is pulling the same BS. Dont worry it will all come back onto the shelves when the guys manipulating the supply chain want...just at a couple times the price it was. wink Being in a conservative state wont save anyone either because inflation doesnt recognize borders..

They were looking good up in Lubbock today.

Wife even found that Lumberjack bacon that i like and got 3.

She also got a bunch of meats and veggies.

Even the local store is still stocked well.

Good at our house. Told the wife maybe 3-4mos ago that there were lots of articles about impending food shortages and she should stock up.
She did. Love that girl.

The pasta shelves were empty this afternoon at our local grocery, everything else looked good.

We are toast. Plan accordingly for the sake of your loved ones.
When Russia moves on Ukraine there’s going to be a domino effect. The weakness we’re displaying right now will be our downfall. Blood in the water to a world full of piranha.

Nowhere, but that doesn’t validate your assertion that the US is the greatest country in the history of all time. Just that it’s the best choice for most of us at this point.

HEB's here are good so far.
Posted By: stevelyn Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
I live in the bush. We're always short on groceries. The biggest problem now is lazy, worthless-ast L48ers that can no longer keep a supply chain moving.
Posted By: blanket Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
Stay here wabi, we need to make some adjustments
Posted By: blanket Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
You're blaming all of us lower 48s, maybe you need to rethink that
Posted By: 158XTP Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
Lower 48? Lol. This is world wide fellas. And its a load of constructed BS like everything else has been the last 2 years. My bet is the shelves are going to get a lot emptier, when meat returns it will be more expensive , and the meat that isnt meat options will also be pushed hard on us at this time. In fact I reckon there are industrial freezers full of Pharma Bill gates special unmeat burgers as we speak just waiting for mass shipping.

Maryland bread and meat section last week. Columbia Trader Joes. It's next to the Costco we shop at which was better stocked but certainly not flush with everything. The dairy section was equally bare but I didn't bother with another picture.

It's hit and miss here in my area of MS.
Kroger will be empty as hell at times, then at others just certain sections. That doesn't include the idiot panic buying when they say we may be getting a whopping inch of snow/ice. People lose their minds around here. And their driving ability. ha

These are after effects of shutting down an economy for a while in my opinion. There are lingering effects for years to come if you read back through history.
Remember when tracking your package actually worked? Remember when Amazon got here in two days? Remember when you didn't have to bag your own groceries when you went to Kroger? Just some of the little things I miss.
Posted By: TrueGrit Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
Could be worse, I had to buy gas during the shortage in 1979.
Posted By: OldGrayWolf Re: Grocery Shortage - 01/16/22
Pics from areas fixing to get snow, especially of milk shelves, are not evidence of a shortage, just evidence of normal American preparation for a snow of any size.

In BC we have had massive fires, then the highways were washed away in flooding, now this, we are in the hands of fugging idiot's.

Which is why Gates bought up all the American farm land, i.e., to prevent it from being used for food production.
