Does he look happy?
Daniel's 410 showed up. He won it at a Turkey Hunting club open house.
Its a Cricket. Pretty cool.
We will fire some rounds today!
The smile says it all. That’s great.
That boy is in high cotton!
Now all he needs is enough shells to keep him busy for a few days!
And wearin a Stormy. Kid looks legit and ready to get busy with that shotgun!
Beautiful Jim... simply beautiful.
Boys and their first gun... really nothing better.
When you get home... thank momma for giving you that boy!
Good deal! He looks like he’ll definitely be a gun guy when he grows up!
Not too cold outside right now, a good day for some shooting!
Congratulations to Daniel.
Looks like a good selection of guns on the rack.
Nice pic.
First I've heard of the cricket pump gun.
Did you pick up some Maui Jim’s, Jim?
JC,
If he were any happier he’d just pass out! Little beard and he’d look just like you!
Nice pic.

Didn't know Cricket made 410s.
Good job Jim keep them interested in your lifestyle and it looks like he’s hooked.
Little beard and he’d look just like you!
Why you pickin' on that kid?
That's terrific! See that he gets to shoot it a lot.
Nice lookin' gun. I was expecting a single shot.

Awesome picture. Your boy looks like he's about as happy as he can be.
That’s cool, fine looking young fellow
Well now, that sure looks like a sharp tail/pheasant gathering machine in the hands of your son. I hope the two of you make a lot of great memories with it.
Osky
Pretty wonderful. Lots of fun there.
Congrats to Daniel on a fine looking shotgun.
Whoo-hoo!!
Good for Daniel Boy!! That boy has got to be the luckiest bugger in Montany!!
100% !

Your threads with your kids are the best. His smile is contagious. Good times, enjoy them!
Congrats to you both! 😎
Is that place in Havre? I’m wondering how far you had to go to get it.
The mighty 4 hunerd and ten! Put down a lot of squirrels and wabbits with one of them.
Long term hunting partner in the making right there! Yep he looks like his day was just made.
That’s awesome Jim!
Congrats Daniel boy, you’re on your way to a bright future.
Already a gun guy! Great!
Happy kid! Now get to shooting
You can’t start em’ to early as the smile shows.
Congrats to that young man.
Way cool, happy little guy right there.
Blast away.
Sparrow and magpies are on high alert.
I like it. He's happy and I'm happy for him.
Look out wabbits!
I can't even imagine how thrilled he is.
Maybe time to get set up to reload .410's.
Yep, that smile says it all.
“…suddenly, the local rabbit population, was gripped by an unknown dread!”
If that smile gets any bigger, the poor kid is going to hurt himself. Good job, Dad!

Best of luck with the new shotgun, the smile says it all.
I'd be willing to bet there isn't enough 410 shells in that end of Montana for him to shoot to knock the grin off of his face.
Excellent!
Great, hope he enjoys it, I have a mossberg 500 in 410 pump, really nice little shotgun.
24-inch vent rib ported barrel
• Quiet carry dual-action bars
• Fixed full choke
Durable and lightweight, this pump-action shotgun is the ideal choice for shooters wanting a reliable, field-ready .410-gauge. It features a fixed full choke, and a 24-inch, vent-rib, non-ported barrel with twin bead sights.
Congrats to the smiling young man. Now if someone will just starting making 410 ammo again.
Way to go Little Man. Listen to Dad, be safe, and have fun!
That boy is in high cotton!
Now all he needs is enough shells to keep him busy for a few days!
Yep. Good deal !!! Hope he enjoys it like I did my first .410.
Made your boy happy big Jim but it looks like a commie plot of some kind to bankrupt your butt with the price of 410 shells. Make sure he picks up all his hulls. Mb
That’s just too cool! Congratulations to the young man.
Awsome, give us a short range report after he shots it.
He is off to a great start. Good for you both.
So gratifying to see that we have gotten this far without anyone piously intoning the BS about handicapping him with the .410 and "should have gotten a 20".
Jim;
Thanks for sharing this with us.
His smile says it all sir.
Very, very cool.
Dwayne
Now thats cool.
super happy to see the kid smile!!!!!! love it
That's awesome, Jim!
Truly.

I have one of them youth 500s synthetic with a 22” barrel, spacer stock, and choke tubes in 20 ga. That is an awesome tool and is light AF, which is a drawback as well in that it’s a fast recoiling sucker. The short length of pull with spacers is great for heavy coat or backpack strap. I always wanted the 410 version.
I sure wish someone would make a scaled 410 single shot without the safeties and chit. Like the old Stevens or H&Rs
Congratulations little man!!!
That is more than excellent. The smile says it all.
Good for him. Now look for a cosigner to aid with ammo purchases.
Jim Conrad, thank you for posting that picture. These dark days would be darker still without smiles like that.
A picture that's worth a thousand words!
👍

Fo' sure!
That should be a tree rat killin' machine. Wait, do they have tree squirrels in Montana?
Jim;
Morning sir, thanks for the video!
Since I wasn't familiar with the brand, I looked them up and see that they're made in Turkey.
There's bunch or maybe just a few different manufacturers there so I don't know if the two I've had for awhile now are made at the same place as your son's is, but they've always gone bang for me.
Thanks again for the morning smile Jim.
All the very best to you and yours this week.
Dwayne
Thanks Dwayne. Same to you.
Truly enjoyed the video made me smile,I had a Savage bolt action 410 at that age and remember shooting it like it was yesterday
Thanks for the video! That put a smile on me almost as big as the one on that young man.
My dad got me a bolt action .410 from Sears when I was about that age. Thought I was king of the woods!
Thanks for the video! That put a smile on me almost as big as the one on that young man.
Same here!
Highline Pheasants Beware!

No worries, he’ll grow into it in no time 😎
Very very cool Jim that oughta help keep those pigeons in check
Fine business sir! I just subscribed to your channel. If enough other Campfire members do it may help to fund .410 shells
Montana Dude!
Way cool, WAY WAY cool.
PS, should have let the video run 8 more seconds so it, too, would be 4:10.
PPS I may have to look into a couple of them cubes, they look handy for chasin' around.
Thanks for the video! That put a smile on me almost as big as the one on that young man.
Same here!
Yes indeed!
Made me smile too. Good stuff.

Woohoo! Good day for all.
That's awesome! My first gun was a .410. I still have it 52 years later.
Ron
Good deal Jim,
Who's having more fun ?
Awesome.
No snow? Summer range in Texas?😂

Henry does. I bought one for turkeys, had the Henry rail mounted and bought a Turkey choke tube, plus a Skeet and Modified. With a red dot, it shoots Brenneke slugs like a rifle, and throws nice patterns with shot and buckshot defense loads too. Nice checkered walnut, good bluing. Straight hammer-gun with no safety. They have a youth stock available. Not cheap at about $500, but heirloom quality.
The hammer/trigger pull issue has been corrected and they have a very nice trigger now. I keep a butt-cuff on mine with a mix of shot, slugs, buckshot, and “animal-behavior-modification” loads (plastic balls). Only load that doesn’t shoot well is the Hornady FTX load with a slug and a couple of buckshot. That one’s strictly for close-in.
