Salt Lake Tribune Editorial Board Calls for National Guard to Bar Unvaccinated from Going ‘Anywhere’

If Utah was a “truly civilized” state, the governor would have deployed the National Guard to ensure those without proof of vaccination would be barred from going anywhere, the Salt Lake Tribune Editorial Board wrote Saturday.

Were Utah a truly civilized place, the governor’s next move would be to find a way to mandate the kind of mass vaccination campaign we should have launched a year ago, going as far as to deploy the National Guard to ensure that people without proof of vaccination would not be allowed, well, anywhere. But it may be too late for that, politically and medically.
In the meantime, get vaccinated. If you are sick, stay home. And let your elected officials at all levels know that you expected them to lead us out of this mess, not stand by and meekly express concern,” the piece continued.

The board also claimed there was “lots of blame to go around”:

Gov. Spencer Cox and the new state epidemiologist, Dr. Leisha Nolen, let it officially be known Friday morning that there are so few tests available in the state, and so many people who reasonably fear that they have contracted the coronavirus, that anyone who is feeling the kind of symptoms associated with the disease should just assume they are infected and stay home.

However, elderly people and individuals with underlying conditions were still encouraged to be tested.

The board also said President Joe Biden attempted to “pull a couple of useful levers by ordering vaccine mandates for health care workers and vaccine-or-test rules for workplaces of more than 100 employees.”

But the Supreme Court recently dealt a huge blow to Biden’s coronavirus policy, striking down the vaccine mandate on employers yet upholding a smaller mandate on healthcare workers.

The board then criticized the president, stating, “Not that Biden is blameless in all this.”

“Seeing the obvious reluctance of so many people to get, or to require, vaccinations has only now moved him to push to make tests and the most effective kind of masks available to everyone. It’s the right thing to do, but months late,” the article read.

How does everyone like the first test of eventually bringing on the "Mark"?

Only if you read the SL Tribune. They went full commie a long time ago. Our Governor on the other hand, has done an excellent job with Covid. Passed a bill last year that masks could never be required for our kids in school.

The Trib has always been the opposition minority paper.

Utah has most certainly not gone Commie. Almost everywhere but Salt Lake City is demonstrably conservative. But that's how the Commies work: they infiltrate a state's capital and elect their own kind to powerful positions, then force compliance with their agenda. Look all over the West and you'll see that pattern. Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Arizona...every capital city is infested with 'em.

While there are liberal hotspots in Montana, during 2020 election ALL the statewide elections went Republican--governor, major cabinet members, U.S. senator and congressman--and the state senate and house both have Republican majorities.

I have every faith that real Montanans can fend off the invasion, but the attempted takeover is real.

This is the problem, no one has to suffer any consequences anymore! People can run their mouth and try to impose their will on others through media and/or politics and not have to worry about any repercussions. Just imagine if a crowd tied one to a pole, and ran a sandblaster on their face for a while. That, or cover them in Vaseline and light them on fire.

I grew up in Helena and oh has it changed. Many of my generation left to find jobs elsewhere while in recent years there has been an influx of leftists and also an influx of the very well to do. Local wages have never been that good but now with the outside money coming in its gotten very difficult for many locals to stay above water. The attempted take over is real and it's all across the country.

That fish wrapper of a newspaper laid off most of their staff because they were failing. Numb nutz Huntsman boy then bought the paper with daddy’s money; otherwise the paper would have almost certainly gone bankrupt. The old man, John Huntsman, was a good dude and did a lot of good in the community and donated hundreds of millions to cancer research.
