They're going to have to put some locks on those shipping containers that can't be cut with bolt cutters.

A Metabo will make short work of any size or flavor lock that will fit on a seacan door.

Most of those have damage to the roof from the cranes that's easily opened.

Average Americans are going to have to suffer greatly and be pushed into desperation before they realize they need to start shoveling the schitt out of their backyards.

Instead of laying people off it might be prudent to put them to work shooting strays.

New way to avoid shooting during looting. You guys let me know if you like this. At every entry point have several high pressure sandblast nozzles and one box car full of silica sand. When there is a certain amount of weight, provided by looters, in that area after the lock is cut the blasters come on in full force. I'm thinking 300 psi ought to be good. When the they jump off, after copious amounts burning pain, the blasters stop. Repeat as often as needed. No gunshots to cause noise and conserves precious ammo. Maybe give them a shower with acetone to sterilize the burns and a parting burst of flames to caurterize their wounds.

They need to have armed guards with a Charles Manson (type FU) personality strolling the trains, keeping the law.

Free stuff, just come get it. Nice job Nancy, right in your back yard.........this is what the dems think would be great for all of America. Defund police, don't prosecute criminals and this is what you get.

If they really wanted it to stop, it could be EASILY stopped on the next attempt, & I do mean EASILY.

They really are not interested in stopping it.

Heard today that Union Pacific is telling CA that they will vacate CA if it's not fixed, but that's just lip service, IMO.

Somewhat related, but in S Africa, the rioting that took place when Lres. Zuma was imprisoned: https://youtu.be/JevGPfr7TvE

Six months ago. The looters also hit the distribution centers and wiped out their food supply for a week or so.

A neighbor is a retired engineer from B&O / CSX. He was told thugs would get on a higher piece of ground above where the trains came into the Baltimore yard and rolled tires down the hill to break the airlines and stop the train. Then they'd run down and grab whet they could. The crews were warned to stay on the train can call for the RR cops. That was several years ago.

Schneider National just moved their western US intermodal ops from BN to UP. They're a huge intermodal carrier, probably close to 20k cans and over 1b in revenue a year.

If UP was gonna pull out of California, SNI wouldn't have given them the business.

Well anyway, I posted that pic, it tells the story.

I dont think the regular news is covering this to any real extent.

One article I read a few days ago was that UP threatened to leave LA County, not California. Said they had arrested over 100. DA declined to prosecute or dismissed charges on all.

Feed a few dozen of them through a large wood chipper, like in the movie FARGO, and they might be discouraged from continuing to loot trains.

Or, put them into empty covered hopper cars and leave those cars on a siding in either a really hot or really cold place for a few days. Maybe it would be kinder just to chip them and recycle the output to feed the Earth.

If UP stopped moving shipping containers from the Port of LA through LA that would tighten an already thight bottleneck. Plus, UP would be missing out on an important revenue stream, so I think that their threat was just a threat.
Posted By: RockyRaab Re: Train looting - 01/20/22
I read a news piece this morning (but can't find it again) that they are bringing in a bunch of UP Railroad Police to deal with it because the LA cops won't. Those RR cops are notoriously effective at "dissuading" people.
Posted By: Teal Re: Train looting - 01/20/22
I had read that when the story first broke - RR cops were the ones with jurisdiction, not the LAPD/CHiPs etc.

So, are you saying that the LAPD, LACSD, and CHP can't enforce laws on private UP property?
