The word "sweet" can have difference meanings depending on the source... Vandalia onions are about the best around here - and they're visibly different from the other so-called sweet onions by being not round, but somewhat flat in measurements - sort of like a curling rock.. Problem with those is they don't keep as long as the others so one might wanna buy a smaller amount but refresh more often..
Brandy old fashioneds - some"bartenders" are clueless

Boneless, skinless chicken. Without the 2 main identifiers, what is it, really?

Agreed. HOWEVER, I understand "different strokes for different folks". Heck there are people who actually like peas and carrots and there are actually people who will put green peppers and/or black olives on a pizza. Good grief! What is wrong with people?!

The only real, sweet onions I've found have the produce sticker or label on the bag declaring them "1015 Sweet Onions"... 1015 is the genetic variety of produce.

If they don't have that, I don't buy them.

Most anything used, and some new things.
Mayan, Peruvian, Vidalia, and Walla Walla sweets are all good onions. Walla Walla sweets taking first prise. The Hermiston candies are good sweet onions also. None keep like yellow onions.

The soil in Vidalia Georgia has ZERO sulfur... that is what make the onions sweet... without sulfur an onion cannot absorb nitrogen which makes the "hot".

My neighbor in Leslie GA was a crop duster... he gave me the skinny on that. I have a vague recollection (i.e. I might have heard it wrong), but it was a crime to fly over Vidalia Georgia in a crop duster with a load of sulfur.

Other soils in other regions are low sulfur, but I think Vidaila is number one.

Never heard that before but I'm not far from Vidalia and we add sulfur everytime we fertilize our pastures.

Hauling old Buicks to the scrapyard doesn't qualify as pre-buy inspections on muscle cars.

Had to chuckle on that one.
Guns from online retailers cosmetic appearance wise for the most part.
Especially wood stocked ones.
Versus looking at 2 3 or4 of em in person and picking the one with appeal to you.

Kinda at the mercy of the pallet stacking and the momo confirming the serial # on the gun versus the box and sending it on its way to you.

Why many sites have the selection blurb disclaimer or charge for selection.
Even then the charge for selection still puts ya in the same boat.

I know of no online retailer site that will show pics of say 3 from ya to choose from and pick the wood you like.

That would be kinda cool if possible.

Too much effort and time to do that..

Their might be a online retailer that does it.
I dunno honestly....

Had 13,000 miles.
It currently has over 400k and still runs like a top and gets 18mpg.

“sweet” onions can be identified visually

Buy the onions that look “flat”, not round

Even flat Red onions are sweet, but the vidalias and others mentioned need to be flat
fruit that's supposed to be sweet.
