We here a lot about disliking thieves here, but not much about liars. They are pretty much the same and there are plenty of them here.

It depends on the situation and context. If we are playing poker, I will look you in the eye and lie to your face about the cards on the table.

On the other hand, if we are hunting and you ask if I saw any sign of critters, it will be the whole truth. Hate it when guys say they saw something when they know they didn't.

I'd rather have someone be wrong and admit it than be wrong and lie about it. Been wrong many times, but would rather be called stupid than a liar.

Saying that almost verbatim triggered my arrest once. I was being questioned by LE and when I refused to answer and told them that I was "automatically" arrested.
