Couldn't really name the worst guitar solo but this is one of, if not the most forced and ill fitting pairings of lyrics with something that more or less passes as a melody.
Tied for bottom place in the category of Stupid Lyrics is "Take The Money and Run".
They headed down to, ooh, old el paso That's where they ran into a great big hassle Billy joe shot a man while robbing his castle Bobbie sue took the money and run
Billy mack is a detective down in texas You know he knows just exactly what the facts is
Texas and facts is as a rhyming couplet?! That deserves a sound horse whipping, not to mention eternal torture by grammar Nazis for the plural noun and singular verb.
He aint gonna let those two escape justice He makes his livin off of the peoples taxes
Facts is and peoples taxes?! A quick execution is too merciful for that kind of butchery.
Red Rider Lunatic Fringe just 'cause it fits current times
That solo is pretty dang good Mr. Too Dogs.
Higginez; Good evening to you sir, I hope the first week of April treated you all well.
As I've mentioned likely too many times, I've got a soft spot for Red Rider as I saw them live in '78?? when they opened for April Wine in the metropolis of Yorkton, SK.
They put on one of the better shows I've seen actually and I don't remember any part of their portion as not well done.
The April Wine part is another story and much of the crowd left before they were done as they wanted to be there as much as April Wine didn't which was apparent to everyone.
Anyways thanks all for the memories from long, long ago.
Hig, I know yer thread was worst guitar solos, but I do like me some Red Rider Lunatic Fringe. Glad you like Red Rider too BC30cal, and a great eve to you Sir

BC30cal,
Good evening to you Sir.
I hope the eighth of April treated you and yours well.
I know bad guitar solos and that aint one.
Best to you and hopes that it is not 90 (ninety) degrees there this afternoon.

alwaya thought that was a copy of REK "Road goes on forever"
I don't think I've ever heard Niel Young play a properly tuned guitar. I use the term "play" very loosely.
Same for Keith Richards. He’s a hack.
I'd forgotten how badly tuned Keith Richards sounds, but you're right...and I don't think a a well tuned guitar would make him sound much better.
Some of the guys who've made it big beatin on six strings...well, it just amazes me that people want to hear them. But then, I wonder WTF would anyone vote dhimmicrat. Maybe it's the same folks, and that leads to another thought...who'd have guessed dead people listen to music (or what passes for it)?

I had to laugh 😀 because Road Goes On Forever is exactly where my mind went when forced lyrics was mentioned.

Two of the worst that are so out of tune they shoulda never made vinyl.
Post yours.
Both best the schitt outta anything Neil Young ever “played”. And Biily Gibbons would have played circles around Jimmy Hendrix. Who most here think was a Guitar “God”.
I watched Willie Nelson “play” a few years ago and what was coming out of his busted old guitar was obviously not what he was hearing in his head. It literally sounded like a small child messing around with a guitar and old Willie was bobbing and jamming like he was really doing something. It was pitiful.

not making excuses....
when you are 85 yo, playing a 50 yo guitar thats prolly what you will get.
id got see willie, but not expecting to see "seven spanish" or highwayman willie

The only thing worse than dopehead Libertard Willie’s playing “skills” is his “singing”. Worst live concert I’ve ever seen. A 1st grader could have kept better “time”. Actually felt sorry for his stoner band.
He wrote a few great songs, but sucks as a “performer”. He’s the Neil Young of Country Music.

Yeah, he has wore that poor old guitar out too. Always played that pitiful stuff.

Bite your tongue...sir🤔🤔 Seen Rush twice, 76 and 78.. Louisville Kentucky. Living at Ft Knox... The 3 of them were the best of there trade. Drummer/song writer... Alex and Getty (Gary) played together in Jr high school. I am closing in on 66 . Still listening to Rush..
Anybody ever heard of a guy named Pete Townsend? He's supposed to be a lead guitarist. He does a decent show when he's playing, with the windmill thing though.

Townsend was never much of a lead guy, but he sure could sweep his kiddie porn under the rug.
And this whole time I thought it was "rubbing his ass-hole". /s
NO, It's Billy Joe shot a man while robbing a Gasso. Gasso was a chain of gas stations.
Sort of what I heard - "shot a man while robbing his gas-oh"; I figured it meant he was robbing a filling station which made sense for trash like Billy Joe.

Saw him at Billy Bob’s in Ft. Worth in 2019. I was at a Caterpillar event and they brought him in to play for us. I was kinda looking forward to it; my dad listened to him quite a bit when I was a kid but oh my! Two cats screwing off the back porch would have sounded better than whatever it was he was supposedly doing. Some guy drug his girlfriend over to hear him and left her there at the bar with me and a buddy. We laughed about what kind of man leaves his girl with a couple of geographical bachelors? She said they drove in from some place quite a ways away because her boyfriend was stupid into the ‘legend’ that is Willie. We chatted together for a bit about how terrible he sounded and how she needed to find someone with actual taste in music until I just couldn’t take that racket anymore. I walked back to the hotel. Yes, alone.

Well that is just about the most anti climactic story I've ever read.
I think there are more than enough musicians from all genres that do not have "wang chung", some songs just make me cringe! You mean to tell me nobody in that recording studio can hear how bad it sounds? In the end , they all have much more money than I do, the ones that are still alive , anyway!
Folks here only mentioned Hendrix once or twice in the this thread - but seems like a worthy candidate.
Nobody here is surprised Jimi don't make sense to a French Horn aficionado. - - -
Some people might feel entertained, but I would be surprised if he made sense to anyone with a discerning ear.
Most classical snobs would!
Listening to Danny Gatton and Joey DeFranceso doing some heavy blues/rock at the moment ("Relentless" album), and playing along a bit. If ever I become a "classical snob", will get back to this thread.
I like The Cars, granted they are more of a studio band than live. Eliot Easton is a mediocre Guitar player at best. WAtch some live Cars and you'll see Easton can barely pull of his own solos.
I actually like the first two songs you listed especially "Just got Paid"
I think Hendricks was over rated though he did influence some guitar players. Keith Richards and Townsend were also over rated.
There's no accounting for Music taste though because Bruce Spermstain is one of the richest men in R&R and I hate his music and think he sucks.
Willie was pretty good “back in the day” . Went and seen him a few years ago along with Allison Krause and Sturgill Simpson. Got up and left halfway through Willie . Allison and Sturgill were off the chain.
