Here is a feel good story (It came up right after the one about 17 people shot at a game in WI last night) about people doing well under pressure. Can someone explain what was happening when the air traffic controller "lost the radar image of the plane before it landed" ?

Guy that lands plane, "I'm on the ground. What do you want me to do now?". ATC, "Oh there you are..... um , well done.....".
