A breakdown of gun terminology to help you in discussions on mass shootings and debates over gun control

"Magazine" and "clip" are often used interchangeably, though they aren't the same thing.

A magazine is a container that holds cartridges or rounds of ammunition and feeds them into the firing chamber of a gun. Some magazines are internal, while others are detachable.

If I ever decide to buy a gun... I will seek wisdom on the topic... from Yahoo.

Yahoo is the bestest.

Try working at a gun shop, it’s a 10+ x a day occurrence, possibly only eclipsed by people who throw a box of 357Sig or 38Super on the counter CERTAIN it’s going to work in their wheel gun.

I tell you, retail gun sales will make you want to move into a cave & claymore the entrance.

LMAO!

Lawyer walks into the gun shop with a Leupold VX-III 3.5-10×50 he just paid for at the gun counter.
Hands it, NIB to gunsmith, "Set this for 250 yards."
Turns and walks out.

Guy buys a Raven .25ACP. Walks to the reloading shelf and grabs a box of Sierra .257 bullets.
Thirty minutes later, he returns and states, "These bullets ain't no good!" and drops a .257 SPBT bullet on the counter.
Sure enough! There are three firing pin imprints on the base of the bullet!

Caller to gunsmith: "Can I shoot a .303 British in a .30-40 Krag?"
Gunsmith to caller: "Is your life insurance paid up?"

MSNBC posted the same article, so folks could argue for gun control and sound like they knew what they were talking about.

Truth !!
I worked at in indoor shooting range for some years, and we called the phone line "The Stupid Question Answer Line". It is hard to believe people can be so stupid and still function as human beings. Granted, some of those fuggers were as dysfunctional as a Hollywood couple's marriage, but damn, some of it was pretty funny (and so were our answers to the stupidest questions).
