Don't listen to sober-Jack.

He's a party pooper.
Been there, done that.

I needed that laugh, not been a lot of mirth as of late.

Should post this one as a PSA!
I love getting schit delivered that I don’t remember ordering.
Lol, What did you buy?
Same goes for Amazon or any other online ordering.
Friend of mine has won a lot of gun broker auctions with the help of beer.

Yep, I woke up (foggy) one morning and checked my email. I had 7 emails, "congratulations on your winning bid". Most we pre-64 model 70's.............
I have my share of problems.
This isn't one of them.
Funny
And truthful

Sat on a the local chapter of the DU Banquet committee for a few years long time ago.

Getting people chit faced to run up auctions was my sub-comittee.
Well, I’ve ended up with a couple of rifles bidding a “ no way it will sell for that price” on a couple of rifles. I wasn’t even drinking. I have a 700 classic coming for 800 bucks, never thought I’d get it for that. I won’t do that again. I got a Sako the same way not long ago for the same price. I’m a slow learner.

This is DU's business model. It's very effective too.
Online Hunting Auctions are Rigged but I still bid..
Man’s got to Know his Limitations..
Being Tippy puts their Algo in the Power Position..
Best thread I have read so far today. grin laugh

Alcohol.

It makes life worth living.
Just remember that in an auction scenario if you win, you are the guy in the whole country who would pay the most for it.

Sometimes you win, sometimes not so much.
100% never done this.

cough cough...
Guilty also lol

Beautiful Flirtatious Ladies, Donated Alcohol and Rich Alpha Males.
I flew back from Japan and interviewed at Microsoft all in 24 hours without sleep in 2000.

I woke up the next day with an email telling me I won an online auction for a Polish M44 rifle and a case of surplus ammo .....$150.

I have no recollection of ever seeing that auction.
First of all, well done Jack.

Flave, I remember(sorta) a certain Sig AR that you recommended awhile back. A Sunday evening event...

It now resides in my bedroom.

Don’t feign being inebriated as your excuse for ordering a box of dicks.

Lol

A $10,000 trailer and a $3k dollar John Deere mower. Bad part is I absolutely hate John Deere.

Apparently the "I'll just throw a stupid Max bid on there that no one would run it up too so I don't have to sit here and stare at the timer all evening" strategy is a loser.

They just naturally show up at the NWTF banquets and auctions already shîtfaced on Natural Light

Watched a fella blow his whole rent money on several framed prints and a sculpture 😂😂🤣

LMAO!

Coulda been worse. At least it wasn’t a Yard Man.
It is bad juju. But it sure is a nice distraction.
It’s kinda unsettling when you wonder if your FFL is looking for you or not.

Mower got a PTO?
I would never have a 223 ackley if it wasn't for Wild Turkey 101.

It's an X300.
I was the attending veterinarian for a saddle Norse auction.

A horse went painfully slow from $10,000 to $23,000

Two bidders kinda deal.

The winner was so loaded they thought it was $2300!

The loser must’ve been even more impaired.

Instead re starting auction they accepted horse for $22,500.

Red solo cup!

We get tore up!

Let’s buy a pony

Ouch!

Funny how that works though. I to have noticed a direct correlation between the amount of alcohol consumed while bidding and the number of bids won. Between inflation and guns tending to retain value you’ll be glad you have them and consider the price you paid today a bargain before long.

That's a basic model for many fund-raisers. Have seen it not only at DU events but those of Ducks Unlimited, Mule Deer Foundation, Pheasants Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and others. An "open bar" works best, but isn't essential.
Watched a guy bidding on a cured ham at a 4-H auction. He bid $75 and thought he was buying the whole ham. Didn’t realize it was selling by the pound. It was a 20+ lb ham. He made good but caught a lot of hell from his drinking partners.
