Things that make me go - HHMMM!!!!

https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...72/do-you-have-a-shtf-rifle#Post17319372

I noticed this post on the Hunting Rifle sub-forum and it got me to thinking - what exactly is a SHTF event? It has to have as many definitions as there are people who dwell on it. How does one determine what type of firearm they need when everyone likely has a different idea of what a SHTF moment is?

Is it a Goverment take-over?

Invasion of a foreign power?

A societal breakdown?

Running out of food supplies nationwide?

Running out of fuel?

Electrical grid failure?

Riots?

Yes. It’s any one of those or all of those.

I don’t know what a SHTF weapon is.
SHTF is like Porn. You might not be able to define it, but you know it when you see it.
When you don't have to turn on the news to know it's here, then it qualifies as SHTF.

Anything else is just propaganda.

You will see when Roe v W is flipped.

As Q said a few years ago, do not be concerned when you see the NG move into and take up positions in 12 major cities.

LOL, talk about blind faith. I don't care who said it, if you see that and don't get concerned you're a numbskull. If an anonymous person says it and you believe it that's just the icing on the cake.

Or rather, the tinfoil on top of your pointy head.
Empty toilet paper roll
Out of beer
AC quits working

These are some examples I came up with off the top of my head.

I don’t know but I’m so ready for it.

Totally agree.

quote=Trystan]Given the current state of affairs going on in the world I have one SHTF/Ship Hits The Fan rifle that I'm bringing with me should I have to leave my home or take flight on foot!

Leave your home and go where, exactly?
the one time I barely made it into stripes because I had to chit real bad, got in the stall dropped my draws, and exploded all over the wall and toilet, guess that's chit hitting the wall.

The last 5 examples in the OP’s list are all one and th same.

The gun for it depends on where you live or where you’re at when it starts going down and getting ugly, I guess.

There’s no right answer, only the wrong one - nada.

That said, my good pal from TX just got himself a “Honeybadger” .300 blackout, from a maker
Right here in my hometown. That thing looks pretty ideal for any kind of semi-urban WHOOPSIE [bleep] situation that I could imagine.

I’d still go for a Springfield M1A1 scout

Whatever weapon you have at hand.

In Falfurrias it’s El Stripes ( pronounced Stree-pays) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
$10 gasoline
SHTF?
TEOTWAWKI?

Gotta thro in some Prepped Tacticool jargon.

SHTF can be as little as listening to the radio classifieds and hearing your
wife selling your tools, truck, guns,

or the power is out, the shelves are empty, the cops have roadblocks, and
the NG is hunting you as a Gun Turn in Resister.

It's nice to have so many quality options available within a 30 minute drive!

This ^. It’ll be too late when most realize they better do something.

Any of these could lead to collapse and a few are already in process. A nuclear EMP could result in a one year 90% fatality rate. We’d be sitting around a lot of unworkable equipment and be back to a circa 1850’s life style.

Heard something on the radio about some city making people justify
a 911 response before they will dispatch.

Cost of fuel was the excuse.
IDGAF if it's $10/gal, if they won't roll 1st responders because of fuel,
your city is totally screwed.

That don't even begin to account for personnel issues and plain old
lackawanna.

Lucky there was no fan in there or you'd be forced to choose a rifle.

The summer of 2020 had several cities under SHTF scenarios
Posted By: TBREW401 Re: What defines a SHTF event - 06/12/22
SHTF is different for everyone.
Lose your job, big medical problem, kid gets injured, any number of things can be SHTF

When, regardless of location, folks have no money and find nothing on the shelves.
Posted By: memtb Re: What defines a SHTF event - 06/12/22
All of the above!

A SHTF situation is a personal thing and different for most of us!

But, most any one of the above will lead to societal breakdown! Once you have achieved societal breakdown …..you are in a SHTF situation for everyone! JMO memtb

Forgot to check a trailer one of the guys hitched to my truck last year. Came across a bridge around a curve and hit a pot hole, looked back it was shaking back and forth like a marlin trying to get off a hook. Broke both chains , slammed into a guard rail, did a 180deg and slammed into the guard rail on the other side of the road and finally came to a stop. I'm watching the whole thing in the rearview like WTF! Thank god no one was following me or passing on that road. I don't let anyone hitch scheit to my truck anymore, nor will I ever again. Scared the living piss out of me. I pass that fugged up guard rail everyday and think about it.

Going to? It's been happening for years in the bigger Scheitholes. The occupy movement took over half a city and the LEO wouldn't do anything. Small business owners have been on there own in the ghetto for a long damn time.
When it's time to help, you're on your own. When it's time to enforce unconstitutional laws, they'll be lined up in tac gear with armored vehicles though, because they'll lose that kickazz 40K a year job if they don't follow orders.
The Left has us waiting for SHTF events and a "Leader". Meanwhile, they have control of nearly everything and we wait.

The SHTF event was way back, un-noticed and unopposed, as planned by the Commies.

Had all three happen at the same time.

It was ugly.

I can truthfully say - I don't give a shtf.
Posted By: deflave Re: What defines a SHTF event - 06/12/22
While the term is purposefully ambiguous I think most people would accept that Katrina and the Rodney King Riots would fall into the definition of "SHTF."

And Trystan is a fugking moron.
