A transformer shorted out In the middle of the night at the power plant where my son works. Security cameras showed a ridge about a 1/2 mile away light up like it was midday. Apparently some of those transformers are almost the size of a small house.

One report I read said there was an explosion prior to the fire. The same report said Boulder Dam was a tourist attraction that also generated electricity. With everything else that is happening in the country you have to wonder, mass shootings at coincidentally convenient times, food plant fires, fertilizer shortages, power outages. I am sure not all these events are planned or intentional but you have to wonder if some might be and if so, which ones.

It's always amazing how much flammable stuff is in a concrete structure like that.

Almost all of the transformer fires I've seen were preceded by an explosion.
But not every failure explodes or burns.
Many explode, to a certain extent, but don't ignite.
Causes are varied, and sometimes unexplainable.
