Same here Roger. Almost tore end off my right hand ring finger last week hauling live oak stumps. Glad I hand gloves on. Probably would have come off. Didn’t hurt all that bad. Even when I douched it good with rubbing alcohol. Looked like bloodly hell. And a real inconvenience now trying to do stuff.

I've smashed the side if my left index finger multiple times, mostly caused by a corded Hole Hawg drill catching and pinning my fingers between framing and the drill handle. It's discolored and puffy all the time now - scar tissueil I assume. I smacked it last summer and dealt with some of the sharpest, fiery pain I've ever felt. Until it heals, just another finger brushing over the area is excruciating.

Alcohol can cause that, among other possibilities. Might consider smashing a couple other fingers to see how widespread it is. If 3 or 4 of them are also painless, then something is definitely wrong! ;-)
