Julie Andrews Turning 85

To commemorate her birthday, actress/vocalist Julie Andrews made a special appearance at
Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.

One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie
'Sound Of Music'.

Here are the lyrics she used:

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin,
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache,
When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd that lasted over four minutes and
repeated encores.

Please share Ms. Andrews' clever wit and humor with others who would appreciate it...
Had a nice set of hooters back in the day.
The only thing that could improve the performance would be if she Rapped the words. THAT > would kickass.
She sang a ditty about hooters. She is hilarious.
Classy lady
A great talent.

She visited Johns Manville Legionnaire’s party in 19 and 66
Any two is nice two, but hers were only average. Gotta give her credit for flashing 'em though, after being cast as a wholesome nun.
She sang for folks and troops in Merry Olde England during WWII as a young girl, she's a classical entertainer.

The Sound of Music is a timeless classic, but I think the movie "10" is even better. I lol every time I watch it.
Incredibly talented woman. Absolutely beautiful soul, face, voice.

What a risk Mary Poppins took in Victor Victoria but she pulled it off with aplomb.

Someone has already mentioned in but Favorite Things is one pf my favorite songs ... grew up hearing it every Sunday after church on the record player. Know it by heart. One of the greatest movies, probably THE greatest musical, ever made.

I think Christopher Plummer may stil be alive as well.
He be dedt last year. RIP
On Carson one night he asked if she got tired of the Mary Poppins and Sound of Music type roles.......and what she could do to change it

β€œI could ball the band.......”

Carson froze then nearly fell over laughing
Saw "Sound of Music" with my mom when I was a sprite. Julie Andrews was my first on-screen love. Class all the way...on screen and off.

Didn't say I didn't "like em" or they were in any way bad, merely commented they were average and on the small side...

I always thought she was hot when I was growing up. I thought that she was at her prime when she did Victor Victoria.

They keep sending me crap and I responded on multiple occasions to stop as I wasn't interested in their socialist agenda. Still they kept coming AND with a postage paid return envelopes for me to send them my subscriptions. So I took a box, put a couple of bricks in it and sent it back. That was about five years ago. Have not heard from then since.

I liked them as well
How did Sandy Duncan lose her eye?

Duncan underwent surgery to remove a benign brain tumor behind her left optic nerve. As a result, she lost vision in the eye, but it was not replaced with a prosthetic eye, as some urban myths claim.
Maybe take a look at AMAC.
Further examples. I hope you guys are ok with this:

You have been spoiled. Those are quite nice.

Quality over quantity for me, I guess.
