I went back down the Cancer Center today to get my PET scan read by the oncologist.
The main concern, the growth above my left kidney has shrunk. It's probably dead.
There is something in my right lung; it is probably just some inflammation
There is something in my colon; it is probably also not cancerous but will require a colonoscopy this fall to confirm. I was due for a colonoscopy anyway.
Bottom line: the cancer is gone with no promises of return.
I also didn't need anything pumped into my veins today; all the readings were in spec. I'm finally out of the hole that the Chemo dug for me.
First stop: KYHillChick took me to the first bar we could find and had double scotches and burgers for lunch.
I walk away from all this about 40 lbs lighter. I have no stamina, no hair, and no appetite.
Next steps: I see the surgeon on Wednesday, but I suspect he will concur with the oncologist. After that, I'm heading to the farm for the first visit since Turkey Season in April.
God Bless you. Hang in there.
Thatโs as good a news as you can hope for so soon after chemo. We are all pulling for you!
God bless you and may your health only continue to get better.
well I'm sure you're relieved
stay on top of it
Glad to hear your health is on the mend.

My older brother who is 79 or 80 just got over stage four cancer and didn't tell any of the family till he was either OK or not. Hes OK. I think I know your family's feelings.
Good news! Happy for you!
The Good Lord be Praised.
Good Friend Shaman, God must be keeping us around so long to do something good some day?

I'll do what I can. What is her name and where approximately is she? I'll need to know which way to point the rattle.
Thank you all most sincerely.
Sorry I did not get back sooner. I took a nap and. . .well, here I am at 0400 the next morning. I guess I needed the rest.
I haven't yet figured out whether I'm going to the farm this weekend. The first order of business is getting my driver's license renewed. It lapsed last month while I was stuck in the recliner. After that, I have to take an honest inventory of myself.
I have not been to the farm since late April.
I have largely not been out of a recliner or bed since mid-March
I can't stand for long.
Although my blood and kidney function shows improvement, I'm still a freakin' mess. Everything's out of whack, just not as dangerous as a couple of weeks ago.
Still, I'm improving every day. I'll decide on Thursday.
Hopefuly its easy to renew.
I knew a lady here that left hers lapse by several months.
Normal process, pay, check eyes, photo, done.
Glad to hear your good news.
You're a Badass Brother!!
Slow and steady shaman, get your sea legs back and leave the chainsaw alone for the time being...
Here's to a speedy recovery and eventful hunting season!!!
God Bless
I'm glad for you. We serve an awesome God!
Prayer works - all the best for complete recovery. Shoot straight!

Prayers sent too....
I'm thinking about you, my friend... keep up the FIGHT.
Glad to read anytime someone beats the big C. Stay at it.
Good news, that should be plenty cause for celebration and ease the mind stress. Congrats on the big win.
Slow and steady shaman, get your sea legs back and leave the chainsaw alone for the time being...
Those words were prophetic. I made it to the BMV all right. I had about a 20 minute wait. Everything went to plan-- no problems getting the license. However, I lost steam in the parking lot. Yikes! When the batteries run down, they run down.
KYHillChick and I decided to retire to a nearby Chinese restaurant. That wasn't such a hot idea. We ended up taking our order to go, and I spent the rest of the day in the recliner.
I'm gaining ground. A month ago, I couldn't make it 10 feet across the hospital room. My guess is the next month or so is going to have a lot of days like this.
I'm now thinking about putting off my trip to the farm. There is no sense going down there and just being a burden.
I've got a trip to the surgeon today. He will probably endorse what the oncologist said. Moose has volunteered to take me. I'll get to introduce him to the guy who cuts your nuts off for a living.
Great news Shaman, now for a swift and complete recovery. Deer season will be here before you know it and maybe you can get that moose fella to drag your deer out for you.
I went to the surgeon today. He pretty much underwrote what the surgeon said.
Nobody is saying I'm cancer free, but it's looking like the Chemo did its job.
Whew! Now I just have to get my strength back. That's looking to be a harder slog than what I originally imagined.
