I hear more old actors and actresses have died. Can't remember their names or movies they were in, but I am just heart broken at the loss to humanity in general, and me in particular.

Can't we go a day without anyone dying... is there no God...

Death comes to us all...

It is the living that matters.

...and the goodwill we impart.

That is what good actors/people did... the gave us heroes on a screen... they gave us an instruction manual.

I have a nephew, 30 years old, didn’t know who Robert Redford is. We were watching Jeremiah Johnson, of course he hadn’t heard of that movie either.

But then, it would be like me trying to recall actors/movies from the 1930’s.

Dead actors remind us of how young we aint.

Actors can "live on" for decades because their works are recorded. For example, there's an oldies channel that shows four episodes of Perry Mason every day. Everyone in those episodes is dead, but we can see and hear them nonetheless.

Authors can exceed even that. We still read and see inside the minds of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Chekhov, and even Plato.

So true, last night I was watching a couple of small documentaries on James Cagney. They’re all dead, I grew up watching them with my grandmother grandfather my mom and my dad. My neighbor stopped by to borrow something, 28 years old he said what the hell are you watching! I said Jimmy Cagney he says who the hell is that :-) Brings back great memories watching those old movies.

I was bummed when Myrna Loy died. Still watch all her movies but sure wish she would have made a few more.
