I like to ride in the back but occasionally will ride with back feet in the back seat and front feet on the console. I try to do the front seat but it doesn't fit me very well for some reason. I am very clumsy and will fall out of the window so my helper is always careful with the window placement when travelling faster than a walk or anywhere with lots of dangers like traffic.

We visited Apalachee WMA today with an unscheduled pit stop at Three Rivers State Park when I let my helper know I needed to do the potty thing.

It is bounded on the South by Howells Landing, on the North by an unnamed landing, on the East by Lake Seminole and on the West by private land.

Here I am in the very luxurious ride we use for these sorts of things. My helper won't let me drive but I'm not really interested very much so that works out okay. Besides - I need to chase the biting flies in the back window and it would be hard to drive too.

We stopped here but my helper wouldn't let me near the water. He claims lizards live in there and they'll get me. I haven't seen one yet but I'm pretty sure he's exaggerating.

We saw some birds and some bird nests. I was interested in the birds but I'm not allowed in the water so they're safe. The only bird nests I find interesting are in my fishing reel.

We saw some deer but the gates were all closed so nowhere near as many as we usually see.

We saw some doves and some quail. Not many of either but enough to hold our interest. They have some doves here we can't shoot - have to really pay attention.

Here's what the roads look like - always very well done by FWC.

We found two fields planted in Sesame. We'll let you figure out why that's important.

And... finally, we found a place that has some percussion flakes.

Tonight my helper was wondering why I was doing a perfect three legged point at the bird feeder instead of puppy business. Then I stood up on my back legs and poked the feeder really hard with my nose. Out runs a rat and I just missed it by a fraction of an inch with it screaming bloody murder for all the world to hear. Heh heh heh - I'll get it next time.

Now my helper knows where the mouse and rat I left for Mom in her garden came from.

Boudreaux and Bubba were sittin' on the back porch of Bubba's trailer on the bayou. Bubba asks Boudreaux, "If you were to go out fishin' in yo' pirougue and was gone for the night and I went to yo' house and made luv to you wife and she got pregnant, and had a kid, would that make us kin'?"

Boudreaux, smiles, and replies, "Nah, Bubba, that would just make us even"!

My helper asked me if I wanted to do something called a boat ride. I've never been but I like riding so I went along. He probably needs my help anyway. Mom was really worried cause I don't have a life jacket yet but we were close enough to swim to shore.

I did not like the floating dock on the way to the boat but I was okay with it on the way back in - I hopped right out and walked down it like a boss. I got to see how my helper catches something he calls feeshies. Ours were all too small so we didn't bring any home. I'd rather play with the bait. My helper said we need to bring the duck gun next time - we saw a bunch of flying things that went right over our heads. I found a cool chew toy while doing number one right before we headed home.

My helper just said "I hate people sometimes. Boudreaux laid his ears down and ran when I pulled that stick out. Took me an hour to get him to realize it's a toy. Somebody beat that poor dog with a stick of firewood."

Too bad...hes probably happy with you now but still wonders about that stick.
Posted By: Geno67 Re: The Adventures of Boudreaux - 10/02/22
He sure does. HIs ears go down when I pick it up. When I ask if he's ready, he knows he can fetch and it's okay.

Mom says I smell like I've been peeing on myself so I've had to get some extra baths the last few days (I am not a fan of baths - except for my helper's baths, I like to lick him while he's bathing, it helps somehow or another I'm sure of it).

Today, my helper caught the cat peeing in my bed. Pretty sad, I like that cat and this is how she repays me for all the ear licks.

I love the Giggle-Ball!

Emily just about tore the house down attacking hers, inherited from our late, great Cairn Terrorizer, Buster.

I crack up every time he goes nuts with it. Mom keeps it put up most of the time. I'm with Emily - that thing is a blast. I hate to hear Buster is gone.
