Went to the Dallas Mecum auction as a guest of a friend of mine.

Just like real estate it's a sellers market. Some cars were spot on on the high end of value and some were sold way too high. Then when you factor in the 10% Mecum gets, from BOTH the buyer and seller and the sales tax it really pushes the price up into the stratosphere.

The biggest mistake we made was not going through with my friends plan of taking a couple of his cars up there.

Still it was a blast to look at some great cars, trucks and 4x4s.

I watch online auction site Bring A Trailor, seems like kind of a barometer, and it seemed like the market was softening last month but rebounded this month.

Betting attending an in person auction would be a hoot. But agree some people let the auction atmosphere whether in person or online push them to spend beyond what a car is worth.

Would love to do that sometime......I missed the last event in Houston......glad to see people still have money for things like that...

Nice RR, looks to have the Air Grabber option

On the chevy PU looks like they had to relocate the battery out of the engine bay factory location and added a jump start-power port by the passengers inner fender. I used that same power port in the belly of my trailer to run my portable air compressor that has alligator clips

Nice to hear prices are up, some may be buying old cars for when the Gov't takes over their IRA's or taxes the hell out of using the money
