What - no recipe? Hard for anyone to make a comparison without one.
I'd have to look it up. salt, sugar, milk, cream, vanilla but I don't know what proportions. Peanut butter sauce (butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, milk, and peanut butter) to add to it makes one heavenly treat.
Store bought, chocolate ice cream with peanut butter swirled in it is my favorite. I think tillamook makes one that's good.

Forgot, butter pecan is a favorite of mine too.
When I was a kid back in OH, the UDF gas stations had really good ice cream. Really good. Don't know if they're still around or not.
they started selling a brand around here recently called Hudsonville
my daughter and I love strong vanilla and they sell a creamery blend that is perfect.
A little pricey, like $5.99 for a half gallon but not out of line with other good brands.
Yes, UDF still sells ice cream, their brand is Homemade
A friend of mine is actually pretty high up in their company has something to do with ice cream. I've never really asked him what he does, I just know he makes more money than me phugging around with ice cream all day.

Chocolate with peanut butter is one of my favorites. I’ve seen the Tillamook brand in the store, but I’ve never tried it. I’ll have to check it out.
When I was growing up we used to head over to Berkeley to Botts Ice Cream and buy their coffee ice cream. It was excellent. Another good one is what Joe K sends out once in a while, Graeter's. That said, I very rarely eat ice cream.
Dairy Queen? Last time I read about their products, article mentioned they are not even considered to be “ice cream”. Rot gut ice milk at best with low butterfat content.

I don't care what it is technically, stuff is like no other. Why would you call it rot gut, you sound like a snob, sorry.
We go to a place downtown Charleston where they make it onsite, also make waffles cones right there. Very, very good, and I’m choosy about ice cream, only eat vanilla, nothing with strong flavors to hide a lack of quality.
I make ice cream every few years, when there’s going to be enough kids around…hand-cranked, of course. Put the recipe on here several years ago, somebody said, “That’s not a recipe, that’s a science experiment.” Takes planning ahead, two day project, lots of eggs, heavy cream, tactics to ensure smooth, no ice crystals. Absolutely great. Worth all the fuss.
When my brother was in law school I went out to Buffalo NY to haul some stuff home for him. His roommate took us to a custard stand one night. Couldn’t believe the line…for a friggin ice cream cone??? When we got ours I understood. No doubt that stuff was made with eggs and heavy cream and sugar… Only thing I would ever go back to Buffalo NY for.
Sold out? I thought their founders were fàgs from VT from the jump, and got more political as time went on and they had a base big enough to get mouthy.

Cohen and Greenfield...lol. I meant they don't have anything to do with running it, since the 90s.
Shows you what I know, thought it was the Coke that was woke. Can't say I've ever had Ben and Jerrys, did have a 31 flavors in town growing up, dad bought it a couple times at most. Tastee freeze, DQ or A&W were the regular places.
They were burned out Leftist Hippies from day one. Instead of being grateful this country gave them opportunity, they had to promote any Marxist thing they could so they didn't feel bad about getting rich. That brand is still woke to the max even if they did sell it.
One part oxygen, two parts acetylene, heat with torch until done.. Lol
That's some funny doodoo right there. Saddlesore thinks the dudes filling his medical grade air tank aren't using the same o2 and they didn't just wipe their snotty nose.
It's too bad that Sir Galahad isn't around so that we could send him on a quest more difficult than finding the Holy Grail: finding some subject so innocuous that no one on the 'fire could politicize it.

Yep.
Virtue signaling ain't unique to the CNN crowd.
Nor is virtue signaling about not virtue signaling.

Tillamook is the only one that's close to publix premium in my experience but I haven't tried any of the boutique stuff folks are speaking of. Mrs. Geno likes Ben and Jerrys, I wouldn't eat their stuff if it was the only ice cream left due to the activist nature of the founders.

Have either of you paid any attention to the advertising that Ben and Jerry’s has paid for in the last 15 years? For fûcks sake. Bury your head in the sand and ask the Chinese to spit on it first I guess.

Schits gooood.
It’s the thc laced jïzzm they add at the end. It’s a big hit in Cali.

You what man, this honestly pissed me off tonight.
Ben and Jerry’s went out of their way to politicize their product, in a big way. If you like cüm for dessert gobble it up. For posters to point out their targeted audience is a far fücking thing from your Galahad reference. (Btw I don’t remember seeing him in any Bible lessons I had. Maybe you can help me out there?)
It’s a little bigger maybe than boutique, but not a product that can’t be replaced by a hundred other brands.

Given the fact you wipe your chin after I’d say it’s a given.
Homemade is best, and there is no argument about that.
For the best ice cream you can buy, you gotta visit the Chicago suburbs. Naperville, Batavia, Wheaton, and etc. Find an Oberweiss Dairy store, and you can buy take home packages, or fountain made ice cream concoctions.
And I'm not putting down any other choices. I haven't tried everything. But I'd bet a fair chunk of change that anyone who tries Oberweiss will agree with me.

No. I don't watch TV. And I'm not going to wring my hands over a pint of ice cream once every few years. I ain't buying the stuff by the truckload.
Tillamook Oregon Strawberry is damn good. Local place has homemade apple pie ice cream with chunks of crust in it. Literally a piece of apple pie with vanilla ice cream. It’s really good with bourbon.

Never seen A B&J ad on tv. Don’t watch much myself. Thank goodness we have the internet! How else could we tell other people we don’t watch tv?

If you can find it, try the Tillamook Marionberry pie. That how it is, berry pie filling and crust mixed in with the ice cream. Good stuff.
Ritchey's diary is our favorite. Ice cream, and most other diary products. Fresh, local cows. Home delivery still available.
Obscure local. But it's Fun real. Not farm to home, not orgasmic from snooty cows for snooty people. Personally know they hold producers to a very high standard. But it's about normal farms, providing good stuff to normal people. For a price right with the big dairies.

Bluebell and Tillamook, although no Bluebell in St. George. Have to get it when I go back to Phoenix. Been known to finish off a four pack of Drumsticks at a sitting. Can't eat just one. The goal is to determine the right amount of ice cream left in the cone to mix with that big chunk of chocolate in the bottom of the cone for the last big bite. After that, you conclude that you need just one more.
Snickers and Twix ice cream bars? Drumsticks? Bagfuls and 4-packs?
I didn't realize there were so many weed smokers here at the 'fire.
I kinda grew out of it I guess. Tried it as a kid - it was just okay, left it alone for ten years in the military, then ten years of using it afterward. One day, I didn't want any. That was a long time ago.
I like the berry flavored IC's the best, blackberry, raspberry or blueberry. That said, when I was in Tacoma, I tried ginger IC, and get this: Lavender. Loved them both! And yes, I still have my mancard!
There's a local Ice Cream brand called Toft's in northern Ohio, They have a shop in Port Clinton and perhaps other places. Also sold at Andy's Party shop. During National Matches at Camp Perry its a must-visit evening dessert after a day shooting! (or after EVERY day of shooting!).
Toft's is GREAT!
They have a flavor called "Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle" which is the greatest dairy product ever developed since the domestication of cows 5000 years ago!

I'm told by the ladies in this house that Blue Belle is the be all end all.....and I once brought home a Blue Belle flavor that they had not tried and now it's thier favorite....called "Butter Crunch". It's downright tasty!
Ben & Jerry's. Add come Coca Cola and you get the perfect woke float.
Woke ice cream
Big time liberals
Yep. They make a mean pistachio though.
I'm sure the Tillamook folks are MAGA all the way . . .
My cousin, uncle, his ex wife, her ex husband all sold milk to Tillamook, pretty sure its a farmer owned Co-Op, and they're all about as MAGA and FJB as you can get.

I'd have to look it up. salt, sugar, milk, cream, vanilla but I don't know what proportions. Peanut butter sauce (butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, milk, and peanut butter) to add to it makes one heavenly treat.

Umpqua is even better
You are correct sir.
That is some good stuff. Tillamook is good, damn good. But the umpqua is even better.
