Peggy had a visitor come by Saturday up at the cabin while I was sagehen hunting up north.

He's a good sized cinnamon bear and was in fair condition. The Dixie 1,000,000 acre fire burned all around the valley, and the bears are stressed for food.

It isn't going to be another good winter for them. We've been seeing four times the bears in the Dixie Road area where we avoided the big burn. There's not nearly enough food for them, and we anticipate some cabin break ins in the area.

It’s that time of year for the cranes to be heading south. I enjoy hearing them as they pass over, waaaayyyy on up there.
