I would like to get a couple of headlamps, one I would like to get a waterproof one for the field and then I would like to get a couple beater ones to throw in the vehicles.

For a flashlight I'm looking for a full size flashlight, something rechargeable with a wide beam would be great. Open the other options for a full size flashlight also.

I've got an Energizer PMHT61 that I paid, I think, $35 for at Lowes a couple of years back .... shockingly, it's been one helluva good flashlight. Strong piercing highbeam, great button switch, casting low beam and, with a two second hold on the switch, a surprisingly good strobe. It's built like a tank, holds 3 D cells, 450 LED lumens.

I've always had a bit of a flashlight fetish .... got a ton of them. Got them everywhere in house, in the garage, in the trucks and tractors, in the barn. I walk out the door every morning with one in my hand to get from the back porch to out here in the hay barn. That Energizer, IMHO, is the best bang for the buck going. Spun and checkered aluminum body (not stamped), really well designed. I'm picking-up a couple more if I ever drive back into the big city again.

Brinkley and Energizer both make good 3 LED headlamps with high, low and red light switches. I like Brinkley's wider straps personally but I like Energizer's 3 AAA power source better vs Brinkley's 3 x 2032s. Coast makes a rechargeable but they're $70+ bucks and no headlamp is worth $70-$80 bucks imho.

After all these years of using em, I am still in the testing mode. I , also, have them everywhere. My best headlamp right now is a Petzl, and I have some cheaper ones in med packs and vehicles. Remembering to replace the batteries every six months or so is my biggest problem.

Streamlight Protac HL USB

I used to use Petzl, but I've switched to Black Diamond for headlamps.

Petzl for head lamp. Streamlight for flashlight. I have two of the non-rechargeable versions of the mini flash light linked below. Bright enough to use as head light on a UTV at 20 MPH when the electrical system takes a dump in the middle of no-where on a moonless night.

For a headlamp I use Ledlenser rechargeable. I keep it on as extra light while running the ATVs and snow go’s. It’s better than the machines lights. Don’t know on the hand held.

I have a couple black diamonds. I have had both for four years. No issues with either.

I believe that an "all-around" headlamp would be a halo.

I like my Black Diamond 400. It has a red lamp option, which doesn't ruin your night vision when walking in the woods at night or while on the boat at night.

I also bought a hundred (+/-) of these and leave them scattered in every car, truck, trailer, boat, tackle box, tool box et al.

They are a hell of lot better flashlight... than the one you don't have with you...

Sofirn SP36 (60 clams or so) 8000 lumens, Sofirn Q8Pro (100 +/-) 11000 lumens if going budget. Really not cheap products at all just inexpensive and super high quality.

Petzl and streamlight if you're a brand snob. The less expensive ones above are better products though.

I stay with Black Diamond for my headlamps. I like an Olight, but the Fenix PD series seem to be about the best bang for the buck

Petzl. I have two 15 year old units, with 3 AAA batteries. I use them a lot. Had to replace the head bands, the elastic wore out.

Bushnell TRKR headlamp. Been using the same one for 5-6 years with zero issues. Good battery life and brightness. 2 white settings, plus red and UV for blood tracking. Around $30.

Favorite flashlight is a LED Lenser. I have 3 now and haven't had any issues in a few years of use. Simple and compact with 2 white light settings. Decent battery life in a compact light.

Takes a lifetime to recharge.

ZebraLight is my current favorite for both, but they only make compact flashlights to my knowledge. Don't let the size fool you, though. Those suckers can throw some light.

The option of headlamps is endless. Trying to find a decent full size flashlight a little bit tougher everything is so small compact and Powerful today.

250 lumens. Then 300. Last i bought was 400 i think.

Uses 3 aaa.

I still like MagLite for a hand held flashlight. Had a couple of them for quite a few years now and lasted just great.
