Watched that about a week or two ago... wife ran across it and let me know...

IN high school I was a CCR and then Rolling Stone Fan... a very distant third place was John Kay and Steppenwolf.

CCR and Steppenwolf for me, wasn't a big fan of the Stones or Rod Stewart.

Kent
Angeles City late ‘71 or early’72, had ridden up from Subic for a couple of days to spend with my side chick. Angeles was a 24/7 town in those days, kinda wild west… Fond memory: finally drifting off to sleep in Alice’s apartment to the first few riffs of “Up Around the Bend” being played by the band in the club down the street…7:00 AM.
Crossdressing Canadian Rubes - bunch of doped up dorks.
when I played drums for them.

My dad turned me on to CCR back in the 70's ,have enjoyed them since.

Saw the Blue Moon Swamp tour when it came through houston in 1997
Just my opinion they were the greatest group ever, turned my two sons on to them, both stated nothing better than being on the firing range shooting A fifty caliber listening to CCR. Timeless music.

probably got a 1/4 of the pussy he did, but it was still a lot, lol.
When I hear "Bad Moon Rising" I'm standing in line, outside the Mess Hall, at Ft Lewis, in 1969. Their music is always somewhat evocative to me. GD
they were awfully good

“The Old Man Down The Road”, was the last good song he had.

Here’s what Fogerty had to say about it :

CCR was a great band.
First album I ever bought was Willie and the Poor Boys.

Local legend has it John Fogerty wrote Green River based on his time spent on Putah Creek.

Wiki agrees:

Fogerty spent summer vacations at Putah Creek, near Winters, California, which became the subject of the CCR song "Green River".[12][13]

Search him on Wikipedia.
CCR was an incredible band, back in the day. They churned out hit after hit after hit, all due to John Fogerty's songwriting skills.

When you really read into the tragic story, breakup, lawsuits, record label lawsuits, etc... A lot of people mistook John Fogerty for being an ego-maniac, taking 100% full control over CCR. They all signed a disastrous record deal with Saul Zantz, head of Fantasy Records. The 3 other guys wanted more creative control, etc... Tom Fogerty (John's older brother) quit, making CCR into a trio in the real early 70's. The 3 remaining members recorded "Mardi Gras" as the last CCR album (minus Tom Fogerty), with each member contributing to songwriting, arranging, lead vocals, etc... IT SUCKED!!!

...and that was it. The end... Or, so we thought. CCR lived comfortably off their royalties all through the 70's and early 80's. Once John Fogerty tried to re-invent himself as a solo act, he got sued by Saul Zantz. During all the lawsuits and countersuits, Doug Clifford(drums) and Stu Cook(bass) did the unthinkable and turned against John Fogerty! Whatever happened in the courts, I don't know. But, John Fogerty is still himself, playing as a solo act, and the other guys had to call themselves "Creedence Clearwater Revisited" with 2 or 3 other extra members to fill in musical spots.

So sad to learn what happened to a really incredible band with hit after hit after hit....
