spotted near here.

A wayward moose has been spotted ~ 15 miles north of my house in town. A friend got a picture.
The Albuquerque Journal reports this morning that the moose has been seen near Mora, a small town about 30 miles from here.
They believe the moose is the same one spotted previously near Questa, NM, ~ 25 miles north of Taos.
I'll have to take another look at the friend's picture, to see if we can make out the sex - but I believe it to be a bull.

Quite the traveler, though!

We see 'em on occasions here in central Utah

Majority are north in the Wasatch & Unita mountains

They did transplant 22 head in 1996 (ish) at Joe's Valley area near here

Some did get poached....shot by mistake for Elk...how can you mistake a Moose for an Elk ?

Bumped into this ole girl on the Fish Lake Forest years ago

pic 2......different Moose...she had calf with her too
