Just looking for everyone's thoughts on this mag change.

Under the circumstances it struck me as casual, but effective. Very deliberate and controlled. Kinda early in the slow is smooth and smooth is fast evolution but quite good.

That last shot on the twitch? Excellent performance.
That Officer needs a larger caliber
Just sayin
If the perp was still moving after emptying the Mag.
He needs bigger slugs.

Good Move on the Officer
He Rehabilitated that guy so he will never do another crime.

Great job.
be curious to know this how many of them shots connected..
Why didn't he use the extended slide lock .

Apparently he was as “defund the poleeese” activist. Cop shot him while he was on top of the woman - ballsy. And it looks like he made them all count.

Like how the perps friend was just casually strolling away while there’s a mag completely unloaded on his buddy. Just another day in the hood.
I counted 14 shots from under 5 yards but there was very little blood. What was he hitting? Even with a 22, 14 should leave more than that.

Yep and yep.
I agree OP that that the officer seemed a little casual on the mag change. Things did seem rather under control at that point… Nothing about it one way or the other really stood out to me other than it worked for the circumstances but looked cumbersome and lackadaisical if he were being shot at and in a fight for his life.
Yeah, he did shoot the guy while he was on top of his female victim. Amazing none of the rounds hit her.
I think he needs a .45...

He was leaking pretty good at the end they just blurred it out.

That’s always an eye opener when you see these shoots. No matter the caliber handgun bullets flying at about typical pellet rifle velocities rarely have the DRT effect or show any initial effect at all unless the CNS is hit. Handguns cartridges compared to rifle are night and day. That’s a good reason to carry a gun with enough bullets and keep shooting as the officer did.

A .45 ACP with that big 230 grain bullet looks impressive but is traveling slower than a typical BB or pellet from a cheap $100 pellet rifle sold at Walmart. It’s not at all a reliable DRT man stopper unless the brain or spinal cord is hit.

That target may not have had a CNS, or at least it was fairly small.

I would say using the slide release would be the training.

I think you meant that it wasn't.

Past tense.

It's one of the worst fugking habits a good instructor has to get out of a shooter. Unless they just want to suck forever.
