Was needing some backstrap. Probably for Thanksgiving dinner...

Was wanting a young, tender doe, and found her.

Bandit is a happy boy! He loves going hunting! grin

Nothing better than hunting with your “best friend”! memtb
Dogs sure do love their deer meat, don't they lol
Looks like he had a good taste!

I butchered a couple of hindqtrs on the bed of my truck Monday evening, Labs acted like they hadn't had a bite of food in a month!
Two thumbs up!!!
Awesome 👍
That’s very cool. Mine won’t sit still long enough to deer hunt, and if she sees one, she wants to herd it. She does have potential as a squirrel dog, though. She like to heard them and make sure they stay in the tree. I’ll give her a try after the deer season shooting stops. She is happy when I share the venison, though.

What’s to much deer meat do to them house dogs?😳

House dogs?

Hardly.

I don't know about over feeding them deer meat either. They may get a few scraps when I process it.

Bandit, in particular is trained to hunt and track what I hunt. Deer, hogs, coyotes... whatever. He's been doing it for years, and at 80 pounds, he's hardly a lap dog.

I think they enjoy hogs more.. smile

Great photo of Bandit, Barry. Reminds me of all the great pictures you posted of ole Buster over the years.
Is he a Standard or Giant Schnauzer?

Me too! smile

He acts a lot like him too. Being the same bloodline helps.

Was letting the 3 pups get acquainted with deer today after we got home too. They are old enough to start learning the ropes.

Bandit is the only Standard I have now. The other 4 are giants.
He looks big for a Standard.

He is! He's much bigger than Buster was.

He weighs about 80 pounds. The 2 male giant pups I have will top over 100 pounds when grown. My older female giant, Bailey, is about 70 pounds.
Great post, Barry!

Where's you get the pups? I've been trying to figure out what I want in a coyote dog.

Ed
My childhood dog was a female Standard on the smaller side of the breed. She was a super nice, intelligent family dog that loved guests and got along well with visiting dogs. But she sure wouldn't take any shit if another dog got out of line either.
Great pics, did he leave any for Thanksgiving?

Hi Ed! Great to see you.

I got one male pup from the same breeder as Bandit and Buster... up in northern Kansas.

Got the male and female pups out of San Antonio from a breeder buddy.

In the deer picture that female pup has a grey butt... I'm going to let her have one litter with the male I got in Kansas.

She is one hunting little gal! smile I'm really liking her. I'll let you know about their litter if you want.

I used to have a Standard Schnauzer. Manny was his name. 62lbs of muscle. Smartest dog I ever owned.

Do you breed the Giants?

Edit: Read further down and saw that you will.
Kickass dog pack!

Yep. Ought to be some Coyote Killing Machines.

I’ve never seen one of the Giant variants before.

Crazy Ass Redheaded Ex-Wife 2 had a standard Schnauzer male when we got married. Great dog.
Really pissed her off because he liked me better than her. 🤪
Never knew how awesome them Schnauzer's are!
Hmmm...

Thanks for sharing
Hard to beat a good dog!
