Today after work I was trying to walk across my garage when it dawned on me.
WTF?
Looks like a crackhead has taken over.
Way too much chit everywhere.
I want to see your garage mess.
And you organized weirdos can post pics as well.

haha every couple months I fill a couple garbage bags with the empty cans and used grinder belts. It's not bad right now, but it'd drive anyone that ain't me crazy. I don't know where I put something down till I reach the same level of inebriation I had when I set it down. Kinda weird.
My little dance area?

Gruff, how many 1/2 full(or fuller) beer cans have you found?
(the forgotten...)
Mtn, nice nutdriver.
Morewood, awesome pic collection.
Defcon 3, maybe 2.... Wires and lighting a few months ago.

It's a side benefit of the seltzers. Ain't nobody drinking a half empty I don't know how old it is beer. But a Claw? haha all day dude. And yeah, I find them not irregularly.
got tired of mine looking like a garage sale exploded in it about 3 years ago
went from this

I don't have a garage. Too cold to go take a pic of the shop.
But it's messy.
There is NO WAY I am posting pictures of mine! There is chit everywhere and I can't even hardly walk in it. There are bins, racks, pallets, buckets and boxes of gun chit everywhere. Most of it I don't even know what it is or where it came from.
The new hayshed.
Most of those put my overfilled mess to shame. Nice garages!
Trust me, you don’t want to see my mess!

Yes, please do.
Make me feel better.

Damn this is embarrassing! The pole barn is 32x65x16 and that is slightly more "normal". My garage probably looks like one of Slumlord's rental properties.

My son likes to hunt and shoot. He’s a dyed in the wool conservative but hunting and shooting are like baseball to him. Something that he likes but doesn’t love. I doubt that my six year old daughter will ever be a collector. I hate thinking about them not appreciating or enjoying my lifetime of collecting the way that I have. I love it and would have liked having one of my two kids love it the way that I do.

I hear you. I am not married and never had kids. (Thank you Trojan condoms!) I retired last month and keep telling myself I NEED to get rid of stuff but I sell something and buy 2 more. I like model 70's and I am embarrassed to tell how many I have acquired. I have stuff in the back of some safes that hasn't seen daylight in 20 years. I need to start going to meetings or something.
This is like that meme seen from time to time.
What I think I have.
What I really have.
LOL

I focus on newer rifles, telling myself to buy them now before they’re banned. I love older guns. Old Smiths. Blued steel and walnut. A pre war 64 chambered in 300 H&H would be about as good as gets IMO.

Right. How many would you like? Our deer season is 16 days and I could hunt with a different one.............nevermind. I need to take in a meeting.
I gave up on mine and closed it in. Built a carport. Heck even it’s kinda messy. Shops bad enough.
You guys are way more advanced.
Currently don't have room to hang a deer.
You can do it just taek the bike and fertilizer spreader down and wah lah!

Don’t make this thread creepy..
redoing my garage, building the shelves using a framing nailer I shot a 3 1/2 in nail into the fat of my hand between my thumb and index finger. Only had maybe 3/4" sticking out. I remember staring at it for a second thinking "this should hurt alot worse than it does".
Someday.........
I'm gonna have my very own garage!
Did some exterior stuff last year. You can see my cock....

Most of y’all could throw away/donate 95% of the stuff in your garage and probably never miss it.
You might end up having to replace something for $20 that you got rid of, but 99 times out of 100 it would be worth it not having to deal with the messes everyday that most of you have and for peace of mind.
Never understood having a $50 worth of junk taking up space in the garage while parking a 50k truck outside because there isn’t room for it in the garage.
It makes zero sense to me.

I hear ya
that's why I built another garage!
that $20 ended up being $12K
Going from 48x60 to 28x36 has been a challenge.
Like the Jeep, Farming! What year is that CJ5? I've got a 61 that I'm in the process of rebuilding.
Between my garage and shop, they are both a mess. The upper level of my shop, where I do my reloading, isn't too bad.

This is the viewpoint of someone who lives in or near a densely populated area or state. If you had to fix something, today, or even tomorrow, and the nearest town where you could obtain it was a hundred or two hundred miles away...you would have a different view. Out here, the prudent man never throws anything away...a fitting, a bolt, a piece of steel, a piece of pipe, a piece of wire, a tool...

Built mine in 2014......30 deep & 50 long..Allied Steel......24 gauge sheeting....R19 rolled insulation
Framed interior 2x4 walls...added 3/4" rigid foam board..along with R13 batting in cavity & then 1/2" OSB over top
Finished product with radiant tube heat...water........doors.....windows & wiring etc around $46K
Money well spent...cozy 68* inside on these cold 10* mornings
Was a big project.....had 2-3 other persons assist on the build

Don't be a buzzkill. Garages like that provide unlimited pleasure to men. Pleasure in slowly filling it up. Pleasure in admiring your collection and complaining about it. Pleasure in finding that one needle in a haystack when you need it. Pleasure in cleaning it out. And great pleasure in filling it back up.
It is the one place where a busy man with lots of responsibilities can be free, throw caution to the wind, relax with no care in the world, and not give a damn about answering to anyone but himself.

Must have been great to find that second gun safe you thought you had lost when you were cleaning up.
it was in the den.
the wife suggested in a way that only wives can that I move it to the newly clean garage
I fix and make things. I keep everything, even dust. Never dust, it could be a family member, come back to watch over you!
It's 30 miles to the hardware store. I can make anything at my joint.
I don’t have a garage. Wife thinks we do. What we really have is a wood shop. And a pretty complete one at that. Jointer, planer, tablesaw, bandsaw, drill press, lathe, etc.
No pic as it is a complete mess at the moment.
How do you post pictures? 😜

Gosh dang! Nice paint job on that.

Not sure where you live, but even out here in almost Nowhere'sville, I'd be leery of having safes seen while the garage door is up.
Always remember, just because you're paranoid,
it doesn't mean they're not watching you,
and trying to steal your stuff.

Kind of a sore subject with me. 53 years old and I've never had a garage. Shoulda never gave up control of the checkbook when I got married.

no I am paranoid to, the garage doesn't face the road so people passing by can't see in, and when ever someone comes by, if I don't know them I keep the garage shut
For what its worth, I have a 1/2 inch steel cable inside the safe mounted to the wall. Wouldn't stop someone pulling it out with a truck but it would slow down someone trying to dolly them out.
I wish I had some of the bench setups the other guys have in their pics. I'd just spend all my waking moments out there if I did.

It is for sure not densely populated where I live. When we farmed keeping stuff was more important. Even then most of it was junk. There’s useful stuff and then there’s junk. It was more important to keep stuff when we farmed. Even then a lot of the stuff people keep is junk.

I feel your pain! I got married and made the same mistake. I got rid of her almost 10 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Never, ever again!

A man should not live without garage/shop space.
One or two of the places I've lived, I've had to build a shed or have one moved on, before someone came and requested I give up my man card.

I was kinda hoping that was the case about the door not facing the street.
My wife thinks I'm a bit overly cautious when I lock ours if we go walking for an hour or so out on the public land behind the house.
you and tarquin have crime out there in Salmon?
Dude, y'all know that meth stuff is a issue in the hinterlands of Out West.
We got a little compound started up 1/4 mile or so up the road, PoPo been out there numerous times in the 10 moths or so they've lived there. Animal control, Child services, I think we've gotten code enforcement lookin' at them too.
In the olden days we'd a run'd em oft by now. Maybe be a few new holes dug up in the juniper woods too.
More pics in my garage.
Some very neat and organized folks.
Garage has deteriorated into a storage shed over 25 years.
Was thinking of just lighting it on fire.

We don't have an East River around these parts.
One learns to make do with what one has.
Maximum use of available resources...........................we have lots of juniper woods around these parts.
Sammo, the only important thing to remember is this:
And FWIW, I never leave the garage door motor plugged in, no fricken way.
Motorized Garage doors? JFC, I remember when you was one of us common folk.
My wife has the ability to find any flat device in the garage and turn it into a dumping area for anything and everything. I am constantly going behind her and cleaning up. It’s the one space I’ve got to myself, minus my gun room

I bought a house two blocks down from my wife’s. I have a gun house with safes, reloading rooms, and garage full of chit. The upside is a house two blocks down. The downside is trading it for a cabin up north.

Crap. Is that what they are called?
I only needed a 5 gallon bucket to hold the door
Up so the smoke could roll out.

Oh schit!!!!
Varmintguy seen like a kabillion of those in a blizzard.

That’s great! Takes a couple of dozers inside to call it a real shop. Heavy farm/ranch equipment qualifies as well.

Or Hey look at my cool car in my garage pics??
Haven’t seen any bikes yet.
Time for the fall cleanup!
I snap a pic from the reloading nest once in a while because I'm easily entertained. Ill grab one when I get home. There's always something stupid going on in the shop. Usually more than one stupid thing!
