Let ‘em grow. 😬
Yes
Nice rack but a skinny little guy
Maybe if I could see it 🤣🤣

Dude, enough with the 1” x 1” square pics 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Public land buck, yes. On my private property that I try to manage, no.
Nooo! Way too old, tough and big. Dinks for the win.

How much does a TX “Great Big” buck weigh
Didn’t look at the pic but yes.
Deader than a hammer.
Who cares what anyone else thinks? If it makes you happy, drop the hammer on him.

To answer the question, no. Does that make a difference?
This is 15 yr old son target buck

His body looks young. depending on the area, I’d pass.
Posted By: MAC Re: Would you shoot yay or nay - 11/19/22
Your tag, do as you wish. Why would you care what anyone else thinks?
If I wouldn’t shoot that deer, I wouldn’t roll my ass outta bed to go hunting. Mark me down as a YES!
YES
BAM!!!!!!
I don’t know

Depends on how much good stuff Gateway Pundit was cranking out that day and if I felt like I had to time to fool with icky ya know. My breaking news blips are very meaningful to me. That and making the College Football thread updates.
Absolutely.

But there was a day I wouldn't.
Yes sir!

That too. I'll start out some days telling myself that I'm gonna shoot anything that's legal and by 5pm I'm like...I'm only gonna shoot one if it's the biggest buck ever and he agrees to die in the truck.
yes... pretty one.

I wasn’t serious

Like I give a shît about gateway pundit on any day in November

LOL
All up to the shooter.

Some that say no may not realize that in certain areas of this fine country a buck like that is a big deer.

Not every state has many 150"+ deer and those that have big deer may not have them in all areas of the state. Some places a 130" is considered big.

Whatever you are happy with is all that matters.
I'm 5 days into our firearms season and I've seen 3 dinks and a few does and fawns. We've got 24" of snow on the ground making it a bitch to even get to any of my stands, and we've got neighbors drawing away deer with illegal bait piles, cutting deer travel to a fraction of what is normal here.

Fugg yes I'd shoot that thing. I'd probably even waste a finishing shot just because I sure as heck don't want to track (or drag) one in this mess, but straight answer - I'd probably shoot it even in good conditions and with normal deer movement. It has more potential, but it's a very respectable buck as it is.
That would be a really nice coastal buck on any land and a good public land buck in much of the south, so yes there. It would be a cull buck in other places. It would be a let it grow buck in other places yet.
Yep, and start with liver and onions!
That mofo would have strolled within 150 yds of me this morning at Yellow Creek PHA.

The sawed off head would be in the garage and the carcass would have been donated to hunters harvest hours ago.
I have a very simple rule when it pertains to bucks, if your not going to have it mounted don't shoot it.
Without a doubt--I'm shooting

I'm serious. My cull factor goes away up when I consider logistics.
Hell I'd hit it with my Truck, YES id Shoot it!
Can't eat the antlers so yes I certainly shoot that buck.
I would shoot that buck any day of the week in the public places I hunt. You should have mentioned it was your son’s targeted buck. Good for him a little restraint in a teenager is never a bad thing.

Mines even simpler…..

Cant eat the horns.

Bang flop that mofo.

#bonecollector

#meateater
I follow a FB group for bucks killed in MS.

I hunt one area, gives and idea of what the state is capable of.

Some real brutes come from the delta. They still farm.
We try to grow monsters with pine cones. 😂🤣

Folks will post pics of great deer, maybe not Michael Waddle or Keith Warren class bucks…

First comment “he’d be a good ‘un next year”

That one won’t……

He’s going in the skillet….

I have an alternate rule. Don't shoot it if you aren't gonna eat it. The buck in the OP looks like a freezer filler to me.
That would be a yes for me.

Agreed. That'd be dumb.
From what I can tell about the pic and if he were here around my places I'd let him mature. Managing what we have here depends on culling does more and it's working.
If its brown its down. YES
A little on the 'leaner' side as to body size but in my opinion not a bad rack at all. It's just genetically predisposed to grow upright instead of horizontal main beams with width being the most desirable of the two among "Trophy" rack hunters.
I killed the real wide deer out of same stand a week or so ago and left the area alone.I call that 50 acre sector the “promised land” my big wide deer fell there a week or so ago.The majority of the bucks I kill are from that one stand it’s his buck to kill I’d dust his ass any given day I’m watching what jr can do 🙏🙏

Compared to what I have been seeing this year, I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger fast enough.
Would definitely shoot that buck.
Twice

LOL
If its on my place, no. If somewhere else, yes. On our place I would save him for the kids and grandkids. My 10 year old grand daughter could shoot him. We don't shoot any doe deer and only good bucks and darn few of those. We do kill hogs by the dozens every year though.
That's a no from me

I agree with ya,would take the shot that's an ok buck for my area. Hunting season is long down here somebody else will shoot it if you don't.
I'd have shot it before you even finished asking the question 😂😇

I would never kill a deer if I stuck to that rule. Never been too impressed with mounts.

Not knocking what others do but it takes a hell of a deer to get me too excited.
That size buck is for old guys and kids.

If you’re hungry then floor that mofo.
makes me hungry looking at him.

Heaviest free range whitetail I’ve shot in 40 odd years of hunting weighed 160 lbs on the hoof.
We put meat in the freezer, if it happens to have a nice rack, ok, if not, ok.
I think it would make a bangin euro mount I’m almost tagged out the kids got to get it done
Would you shoot it, yay or nay? You're fuggin A! Hoping to see something similar next week for my boys back in Maine. Me no picky.
Good eats - on the hoof. smile

WTF over ?
It weighed 205 pounds field dressed and wouldn’t let any other buck get close to about 20 does. 5 1/2 year old deer that spent 2 years at a neighbor’s 4 miles away breeding his does. Buck gross scored about 54. Lol.

Yep, I sure would. Trophy status is in the eye of the beholder. Ifn’s I’m the beholder, and beholdin’ a killin implement, he’s in trouble.

Yes.

Yea
That looks like one helluva 1.5 YO.
Definitely wouldn't shoot it, I already used my tag on a much bigger deer. Even if I hadn't I wouldn't shoot it, maybe let one of my kids shoot it though, not a bad first buck for my daughter. My boy would probably pass on it
