There were some good looking neighbor girls, and a flirty neighbor divorcee, but it being Saturday night I was at work.

We had tomato fights at the end of the season. The perfect tomato was a little rotten, but not so rotten you couldn't throw it. The perfect hit was on the side of the head when the target was engaged with somebody else.
Bottle rocket wars were fun too.
March 19th, 1983? I don't recall that event. Probably because my son had just turned 3 days old and we were pretty busy and preoccupied.

They sure were. We lived near a golf course, it was bordered by woods. We'd set up in the woods and lob 'em (with report) up on the green when golfers were putting, then haul ass.
Probably working if it was during the week

What a coincidence!
I was 20 also and my wife was wandering where I wasn't.
I loved the "Land Shark" on the old SNL

Sorry, Mickey Gilley.
Where was I when Buckwheat was shot? My alibi is airtight…. I was wrestling Andy Kaufman.
I was spending the last few days I would ever spend as a resident of deepest, darkest Appalachia never to return. On March 19, 1983 I was two weeks out from reporting to Ft. McClellan, AL for OSUT.
Watching Mr Robinson's Neighborhood
Filling up at a Texxon station. "Buckwheat is shot and Texxon is there".
