The pause that refreshes
Not a caption but that’s quite the crack in the rock wall. I’d be interested in knowing when and how it happened.
20' farther out than I'd want to be.

Wonder if he knows?

Gradually, over time.
Contrails cause global warming.
One misstep in life. Is this it?
I wonder where that crack goes…….
Is that Biden? Please, oh PLEASE!!!

You sure take and share some beautiful pictures of amazing country. 👍

In at least one of the photos above the graffiti on the rock is becoming ancient history itself. 😁
As a geologist that wedge standing on that crack disturbs me!

Seen too many walls fail!

After six hours hunting the plateau, he spots a word class buck, down by the truck.
We have this canyon here. Many expensive houses are built right on the rim. The view is fantastic and they pay a huge premium price for it. However, the bottom of the canyon is full of large rocks that have broken off over the centuries. There are lots of cracks and setting a 100k pound house on top of one won't negate the affects of gravity a bit.

Watch the first step. Wily E Coyote
For those interested in the location...it's very well known

Horseshoe Canyon....located in a 'detached unit' in Canyonlands NP'

Very remote......32 miles east from Hwy 24 on a fairly well graded BLM dirt road

Well worth the hike if you're up for it....the first section leads down 1.5 miles down to the canyon floor

With approx 1000' elevation drop...remember you have to come back up ! Expect 7-8 miles total trip

Two other ways to get into the canyon from the east & south...but are much more remote 4x4 trails

Walking the canyon is relatively easy once down....critters ?

Desert Bighorns very active...many many tracks but no sightings...Burros also..

Video (not mine) does a good job showing it....Wouldn't advise a summer visit at all...

Early in the video...you can see the 'crack' at the bottom of canyon

Jump Joe, jump.
Damn it Martha, the realtor said it was gently sloping, suitable for building.
Thanks for the video
Brings back some great memories
Beautiful canyons out there
Fairyland canyon was beautiful despite the name
Some interesting hikes
First couple educated me
