Had a hankering for Arby’s. Saw the prices and thought about how far we’ve come…on the Arby’s price scale.

5 classic roast beef for $5.00
5 for $5.55
4 for $5.00

And now

2 for $7.00

Sheesh! They don’t even have to put a bunch of crap on them.

Flatiron eh?

They are pretty good I guess.

It's a pretty good name for a small steak sandwich.

Fast-foods in general have raised their prices ridiculously in the past 2 years.

Welp I guess I could say the price of everything has increased waaaaaay more that just a "mere" 8%.......

I know why their slogan is “we have the meats”. They certainly didn’t give any of it to me. Freakin’ anemic.

That's what $15 an hour gets you. They wanted it, they got it

Oh schit, ya outa see the Chinese takeout menus I've collected since 18 months ago. Feb. 21 to Nov. 21 a 10% increase. Nov. 21 - Nov. 2022 another 15%.

The 8.7% SSI increase is better than nothing & I'll take it. And... the feds are saying inflation is about the same rate as the SSI increase. but... I see the actual numbers out there to be nearly triple that.

How many folks will not realize this.?? ^

Those pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters add up faster than most folks realize.

When they're paying the zombies behind the counter $15/hr. what'd you expect the food prices to do ?
Posted By: JTrapper73 Re: Arby’s Inflatiron - 11/29/22
I never ate out a lot but Arby’s was one of our favorite fast food joints. Ours changed ownership and has went downhill every since not to mention that the prices are ridiculous.
We haven’t been there in over a year.
When we do eat out, we eat somewhere nice.
I’ve noticed a lot more guys at work packing their lunches. They’re getting sick of it too.
I can’t remember the last time I ate fast food and don’t plan on it anytime soon.

If I was a cynical person, I might suspect that a lot of people and businesses are taking advantage of the inflation that we are enjoying by saying, "Well, my costs are up 75%, so I'll increase my prices by 100%".

I'm old, I remember when McDonalds advertised that you could buy a hamburger, small fry, and small drink for less than $1. Started driving in 1971 when a gallon of regular was around $0.36 and a new Camero Z-28 with a 350/330 4-barrel 4-speed cost around $3,500 with all the bells and whistles. It was not fuel efficient and it was rough, but it sure was fun!

I'm hoping to sell my little herd of yearlings for 20% more than last year.

I know a feller who's employer uses real world percentages for their employees cost of living wages, this year they are getting a 21% raise.

I have a friend who owns a Thai restaurant. All of his costs are exploding. Many things up 50%+. Labor is next to impossible to find. He can’t find reliable help. There are days when half the crew no shows. He had to close for lunch for a couple of months due to lack of employees. It doesn’t seem to matter how much he pays either. He raised the pay and the girls say he pays the best in town. They still won’t show up reliably. My friend lost his cooks recently when the couple moved to be closer to family. He’s now doing all the prep and cooking along with everything else entailed in running a restaurant. Prices have to go way up to cover the costs.

We have a couple fast food joints around here that pay almost $20/hour to start. That's a lot of money for a kid's job. And still no one wants to work.

Very seldom eat fast food, or out at all, but I much prefer Sheetz, Wawa, or stuff from the Costco counter over anything from the usual suspects. Was eating at Jimmy Johns while dealing with my father’s stuff on the Eastern Shore a couple of years ago too. Pretty good, but they closed up.

They might be paying $15-$20 for working fast food, but I wouldn’t want that job either.

Pressed snouts and butts. Nothing at all like Arby's used to be.
Posted By: KFWA Re: Arby’s Inflation - 11/29/22
the local gas station actually has some really good chicken tenders

summer of 2020 a 12 piece box was $10.99, its $18.99 now

We hit Arby's maybe once every 2 months around here - I like their French Dip and they have a buffalo chicken slider. That is dinner when my wife and I can't think of anything else to make. I think I like to order the French Dip just so I can say "make sure you give me the jew sauce with it!"

I still go occasionally but the tater cakes were the main reason I went there. From what I can tell the cakes were very popular and nobody can figure out why they dropped them.

We often hit the 2-5 happy hour at Arby's. The kids like a slider and a snack sized shake. Used yo be $1 each during happy hour but now there $1.39. It's that 8 % inflation Biden be pushing.

Hardee's have raised their prices today, a "senior coffee" went from .75 to $1.29 along with other menu prices. I guess it's to be expected when they have to pay behind the counter zombies $15/hr. to get them to work !
