opened gun broker, and saw a freaking Garand with bids over 3 grand. gun broker garand link looked at some other completed auctions and saw others of these go for $4 grand. What kind of dope are people smoking? the barrel isn't even original. the gun wasn't a war prize from Hermann Göring's gun collection. The stock has no war patina and is newly replaced. You basically have a parts gun that is not even in original battle condition. what the hell is wrong with people?
The market for un bubba'd milsurps is hot, whether they are all matching originals or "parts guns". They have been increasing in value rapidly over the past few years.

its not like these guns are rare, LOL I don't get it.
That’s crazy high. Buying direct from CMP is where the bargain is at. The same “Expert” model sells for $1300 from CMP I believe. The markup to avoid the CMP hoops is big but that’s completely crazy.
Yeah, everytime I watch Band Of Brothers I get an itch but at those prices I find other ways to scratch!
2400 ish for em at Cabelas. Had 2-4 in the cave last I was there. Rough shape
I got two Danish CMP garands for $350 and $400 at a gunshow in 1997.
If they are worth $3k today, that would be 9% and 8.4% compounded annually.

Usually guns make an average of 3%, while outliers Colt revolvers can make 9% and Mossberg bolt 16 gauge shotguns can make less than 1%.

3% would make my garands worth $735 and $838.
Goes to prove that a fool and his money are soon parted. I wouldn't pay $3-$4K for a truckload of Garands, there are so many re-welds, mixmaster parts guns out there that unmolested examples have become increasingly hard to find.
That's f'en nuts. I am casually looking for one as a wedding gift but at these prices the groom will be getting a TGI Friday's gift card!
There's dumbasses sellin frankenpart ar-15's on the net, for $3 grand.

"3/4 MOA guarantee".

Course, when ya send it back cause it don't shoot, the owner just changes the namea the the company, and you're SOL.

It’s well worth a few hoops to buy directly from CMP and have them shipped to your door. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]
