I bet he will sue over that. In my opinion, he got what he deserves.

Hope some went a little lower than his cheeks and busted some nuts.
Posted By: Idaho_Shooter Re: Attn Porch Pirates! - 11/30/22
I hope it was in the RIGHT jurisdiction, and the shooter gets no charges.

But, that is not the choice I would have made.

Nine holes would end the problem for good.
Posted By: Dillonbuck Re: Attn Porch Pirates! - 11/30/22
Think I have seen that linked with the I-ran protests.

If so, he might be one of the better of his culture.

My very first thought! I suppose that the property owner will get sued, but at least some momentary satisfaction!
Posted By: Longbob Re: Attn Porch Pirates! - 11/30/22
That is so over engineered and totally cool.

Nah, that's the range officer who came over when I was shooting my full auto BB gun.

He ran off after I slapped him upside the head with my 1911, but before he could get far, I put like 500 BB's in his hide. laugh

If that pattern was in the front of the body he would have a better chance of getting off,, in some states its a no-no to shoot a fleeing crook, but in the front, well I was in fear of my life

I remember when rock salt in shotguns was a thing. I miss those days.

A little rubbing alcohol will prevent any infection 😳

Outlawed in the US due to mercury content.

Posted By: grouseman Re: Attn Porch Pirates! - 12/01/22
That's a terrible pattern! Way too ragged, needs to be much more uniform.
Posted By: KC Re: Attn Porch Pirates! - 12/01/22
My father wore a 6" scar on his butt, for most of his life. The scar resulted from a load of rocksalt received in a watermelon patch.

So, a patch pirate eh?

Posted By: navlav8r Re: Attn Porch Pirates! - 12/01/22
I think that’s the result of two rounds. One at fairly close range i.e. the dense patch on the upper, left torso, and another farther away as the perp was fleeing, resulting in the more dispersed hits all the way down to below the waistline.

That was still a standard thing when I was growing up in SE Idaho. I appreciate the black/white nature of it. Venture onto someone elses land, first the dogs start barking, then the shotgun goes off. A few welts that stung like hell taught me boundaries and respect for others' stuff. Only had to have it happen once.

Another landowner wanted to keep motorcycles off his land, so he strung a cable across a well-used trail.

Mercurochrome was the sissy stuff. Merthiolate had the sizzle.

About neck high?

Those shots were at long range. Perhaps 30 yards or more. I worked 14 close-range birdshot wounds as a Paramedic, range 10 to 15 feet, inside-the-house, and I took every one of 'em to the morgue.

My cousin (about my age) was shot in the butt with rock salt by an orchard grower for climbing his trees and picking his fruits. He was about seven at the time. My aunt called the Sheriff's Office and reported the shooting, but nothing was done to the guy. This was the 1960s South. Sheriff's Office likely thought the outcome was right.
