Years ago I applied for work up north of Wenatchee. When I looked into the historical low temps there I was sorta hoping I didn't get the job (they gave it to someone who worked there already).

I think that cold stuff they have there just follows along the East side of the Cascades and ends up at my place sometimes.

It is almost always 10 degrees colder out in Fox than it is in town. My pickup’s thermometer bottoms out at -22 so I am unsure how cold it was but man, did the pickup not want to start this morning, despite being plugged it. I wouldn’t doubt it was close to -50F. Power steering pumps straight up don’t want to work in those temps.

Relatives were enjoying Disneyland yesterday after one of them graduated with a Masters Degree Sat.

Folks in SoCal were freezing and it was 49F. Beanie hats and parkas on some folks in the background of their pics. I didn't see anyone in shorts even.

I'd have been down to sandals, shorts, and at most a flannel shirt if I wasn't in the sun.

Whitetail and Bender, couple years ago I went all out and bought some fancy merino long johns from Icebreaker and Duckworth.

I really like them but the ass blew out on both pairs. Evidentially too much seat time bouncing around in a pickup. Ordered a new heavyweight Icebreaker long sleeve shirt but it won't be here until Wednesday.


And we're boycotting Carhartt as well but I'll be wearing some of that garbage tomorrow.

Sunshine Rae is indeed still in business. I had them install the cold weather kit on my pickup. Not sure if that Richard is there or not.

Sunshine Rae was my goto for vehicle repairs in Fairbanks. I think I gave them the opportunity to work on almost every vehicle I ever owned there. Richard was still there as of summer of 2019 when I left the area. He always did good work for me....good people too.

Forecast is a low of 3 degrees Friday.... That's cold in NC. I don't mind single digit weather if it's dead calm. Crunchy snow clear air.... but if there is much breeze at all, I'll be camped out buy the woodstove.
