plum butter made from sand plums
Strawberry is the only one for me. Butter and a hot biscuit with strawberry jam like mother used to make.
The ones at the stock sale food stand are good too.
I hope everyone knows the difference between jelly and jam.
My mom made an awesome plum jam.
Strawberry rhubarb is one of my favorites. Blueberry doesn't suck either

A jar of blackberry, plum, and wild mustang grape in my pantry right now.
Muscadine would be my No.2
Home made sour cherry jam from our trees.

Do you think figs look like scrotums?
I just wish I could have sat down for some home cookin' in Ma and Pa's kitchen:

Apple butter
What about a good chutney? Every uppity joint downtown that advertises “farm to table” and “locally sourced” slathers mango chutney on damn near every meat dish.

We weren’t allowed to eat figs, we grew up seventh day Adventist

The little old portagee lady across the street makes the worlds best stone fruit preserves. I clean her leaves every fall/winter to get our yearly allotment.

Favorite is Boysenberry preserves.

I think something in Genesis. Or maybe Revelations, can’t remember.
Ones without seeds.
They become aware of their "nakedness" and make fig-leaf clothes, and hide themselves when God approaches. When confronted, Adam tells God that Eve gave him the fruit to eat, and Eve tells God the serpent deceived her into eating it.

Interesting jackmountian. But in my opinion
.you didn’t miss anything.

Wild crabapple jelly. Nectar of the gods.
Elderberry.

No. Strawberry freezer jam.

Well....my wife made some Grape Jelly last year.
Hadn't for several years, we got used to Welch's.
Her's blew Welch's away!

Some one posted Apple Butter.
It ain't jelly.
But I love it. If who ever made it knew how to spice it without making spice butter.
We make our own.
Growing up, Pap's table had a bowl ofapple butter for every meal.
If we were sitting there, the apple butter was too.
Strawberry Jam or Peach preserves.
Hated it as a kid but now I love apricot jelly.

Would anyone have good recipe for apple butter? My granny used to make a good one, pretty sure she used apple sauce as a base.
Apricot but there is a place in NH that makes a lemon marmalade that is really good too.
I can remember my Dad’s mother (Mama Lou) making fig preserves. A wonderful aroma that covered the entire house. Of course we had Brown Turkey variety of fig trees and we were responsible for beating the birds and squirrels to the harvest. Had a Red Ryder and slingshot to help in this task. Had a Chinaberry tree to supply ammo for the slingshot. Mama Lou made thick sugary fig preserves served with cat head homemade biscuits. Sometimes we had sausage patties or bacon to go with them. My second favorite was a tossup between blackberry jam and pear honey. We knew where every berry patch and alligator pear tree was in the community plus the pecan trees. I hate red bugs (chiggers) from my berry gathering days. W also knew when they ripened.
Hands down for me is Salal Berry jelly. My grandmother lived on the Oregon coast near Yachats when I was young and she made it. When I lived in Roseburg Oregon last year I picked a bunch and made my 1st batch. It is incredible.

I do of course like many others. Gooseberry is high on my list as is fig.
I recently dumped out some orange marmalade,

blah
Forgot the homemade pepper jelly served on cream cheese with regular, Club, Ritz crackers or Wheat Thins. Made a mild green one and a hot red one for the menfolk. Used green longhorn and bell peppers for the mild. Cayenne and jalapeño w ith crushed red pepper flakes for the red hot jelly. Great at Christmas.

I forgot to mention that I am also quite partial to a well made citrus marmalade. My mother and I made a batch a few years ago that was fantastic.
I am now making Muscadine wine but have yet to try any muscadine jelly. I will need to rectify that.
Wild black raspberry is what I grew up on, grandma made it. The black raspberries are hard to come by here, and wild blackberries make a suitable substitute. Jelly.

I started eating orange marmalade a few years ago occasionally. I like it just fine.
Wild Plum.
Toss up Huckleberry or Muscadine.

Homemade raspberry jam is far and away my favorite. I prefer jam over jelly.
Some are so over sweetened they might as well be jellied sugar syrup with coloring.

It is nice to taste the fruit and even better if slightly tart

I lived in London once for about a year. I used to go to this English diner for breakfast several times a week. The old biddy that served me used to always give me orange marmalade. I would always ask for something different like strawberry. She always refused.

One day, after having a small assortment of jams sent to me from the good 'ol US of A, I walked in with a little brass carrier that contained 3 different types of AMERICAN jams and I set it on the table. The old English lady looked at me with absolute disgust and called me a barbarian. I said thank you and was very proud of myself and then reminded her that if it wasn't for America she'd be speaking German. She threw me out.
