Anyone that has been a senator or congressman for more than 10 years oughta be tossed. There are a lot of Miss Lindsey’s in politics nationwide, they are so deeply embedded that it’s virtually impossible to remove them….certainly not through voting anymore. Term limits!

Can’t say about SC but here in Texas Cornyn keeps getting elected because the GOP leadership will not let his sorry ass go. Also McCain/Feingold as described by Rush was “the incumbent protection act”. They build huge war chests and the RNC, NRCC and NRSC have huge war chests to contribute to those that play ball with them. It’s a huge scam and we, the voters have no choice. Either vote democrat or vote for who they allow us to vote for.
Trump broke that mold and that’s why they hate him so much. He scares the s h I t out of the establishment because they lost control.

It’s the way it works. You can’t afford piss off the powers that are. Rand Paul endorsed Bitch Mitch for senator last go round. It’s up to us to change that. Get involved in local and state politics. Get elected to a position in the party politics. These people that run the party are entrenched and sort of a dynasty thing. I know a woman whose father was a big fish in East Texas GOP politics for years. When he died she took over. She had an agency in Austin that raises money to support the favored candidate. It’s going to be a hard nut to crack.

Incumbents rarely get beat in primaries. They are in perpetual fundraising mode the day they're elected. It's one of the most frustrating aspects of our election process. That's my opinion, anyway.

The GOP keeps him around. We never get another choice in someone else usually. In 2020 I think it was between him and that Jamie somebody on the democrats ticket ( Pelosi's lawn jockey). Whoever said it is right to get rid of him prob hafta elect a Democrat.

You can only vote for someone who's on the ballot. A write-in is a total waste of your vote. I don't know how SC politics work, but I'm guessing that the Rep party has never allowed a serious contender to Graham on the primary ballot.

More like, he sends the pork back to his constituents. When they get that much seniority and key committee assignements, they wield a big stick as far as determining where the money goes and the folks back home know it.
