Daniel barfed at school. So I bought him home and gave him a ginger ale.

Seemed okay when we spotted ole porcupine.

Good thing I hit him with the first shot....cause I missed the next 5.

That's cool. Just heard they were good. Since moving to Montana, I see them everywhere.

Saving the quills to make something?

Not often though.

Better the way you did it.

I just worry about a skunk squeezing through between the gates and the posts of the dog yard fence and the whippets getting after it. I'd hate to have to deal with porky quills in your big dogs. Tranking them would seem to be the easiest for sure.

I reckon it would take more shoe polish to make me dark enough than I could afford with any prize money.

Cool sick day though.

Hope the boy feels better!

A peanut butter sandwich, ginger ale, Lincoln logs and John Wayne seem to be helping some.

It doesn't look like you have much snow left on the ground. We have had a least a foot on the ground since early November. I'm ready for some melting.

Mouths, noses, tongues, between teeth, [bleep] mess !

Tried ourselves, but the dogs were starting to get panicked.

$800 vet bill !

Yikes.

Yeah, but we're not farmers, with farming stuff.

I fairness, to the vet, that included an after hours, emergency call in, for him & an assistant.

Just $$$$, right.

I think you guys with small animals get charged way more than us when we bring in a cow.

Yep, I too, think they play on the emotions of pet owners, vs a farmer, who's trying to earn a living.

A farmer, would generally be, more business, for them too.

Ha, wife things our local vets place too much importance on livestock and leave the pet owners lacking.

And they charge more too.

I happen to like our vets though.

Just what I needed.

I took a break from here, did some stuff around the house, gave the Gulag girls their afternoon portion of grain, and came back and was gonna hit up the yuotuber for some music.

That song hit the spot though.

I need a powwow about now, but no one is having them when it's freezing weather and snow every few days!

People pay $10k to keep a dog alive for 6 more months. Not so much with cows!
Posted By: New_2_99s Re: Sick Day - 02/06/23
Yep, know a guy, that paid $6k, twice in 3 years, to treat blasto in his Lab.

Came through it, both times, but died of a heart attach, the next year.
Posted By: ironbender Re: Sick Day - 02/06/23
Good on ya Jim for not letting school interfere with his education.
Posted By: SamOlson Re: Sick Day - 02/06/23
Used to be some old native women around here that loved to get ahold of a good porcupine but they went and died.

I think they would cook 'em up as well as take the quills.
