Mine are leather Occidental bags but they are heavy! What else is out there of similar quality?

Occidental is the only choice as far as I’m concerned.
If you want lighter and aren’t afraid to pay the $$$
Diamondback is lighter and built like a tank also.

Klein tool bags, keep leather oiled, will last years and years. I like the 16” bags, probably have ten of them





These zipper bags are handy for wrench sets, socket sets, etc

I second the Klein tools bag. Have saved several of them from the trash heap over the years.

I’d have nothing else, kept my plumbing tools in them for 40 years

Klein stuff is great - I’ve got a few zippered pouches and several hand tools. Gotta admit I like their canvas stuff quite a bit.

Hanco - curious why you prefer the 16” over the 24”?

I guess a fully loaded 24 could get pretty heavy vs 2-3 16” bags being task specific & somewhat lighter.

Holy cow! These belt bags are nice looking - the Elias line might be perfect. Looking for a lighter/compact setup for finish carpentry and walking around a mostly finished project without fear that a hammer or other tool will catch a door jamb or cabinet face. Thanks man.

Exactly, have deer feeder tools and spare timers, motors, etc in those bags, good for shotgun shells, extra 20 volt DeWalt batteries and chargers. A 16 is long enough for a hacksaw.

I have a Husky I used the last 3-4 years until I retired and it still looks like new. Carries way more tools than I should have been carrying all day, but I seldom had to look anywhere else for a tool when I needed one. It has inserts in both sides and the center divider for all kinds of tools to keep them handy and the center sections hold a ton of large and small tools. I did get the Klein small zippered bags for separating small tools like control screwdrivers, driver bits/drill bits, and other electrician tools. Price was very reasonable also...

I used to use CON EDISON canvas tool bags i got for free from my father in law,they look like the Duluth trading ones.

Other than belt bags, I like the old military, brass-zippered mechanics tool bags, which are very durable. Klein, as stated above, is also a good choice.

Occidental is the cream of the crop, but may not have what your looking for if it's other than a belt bag. They are not cheap either, but they are high-quality.

I favor canvas over nylon any day.

These Occidental’s are close 15 years old, granted my days of wearing a tool belt everyday are long past, so I’m guessing I’ll never buy another set.

I always preferred the green canvas...just a choice.....good to see hammer in the right spot.

speed square , chisel, chalk box . I quit carrying a nail puller....made one of the guys throw me one of theirs.

some guys carry so much shiitt on them they cant even go through trusses etc without getting hung up constantly.

Great bags. Mine only see duty rehabbing thrashed houses as we turn them into rentals. Only 6-8 projects a year now since retiring to keep me busy & in shape. Carrying these dudes around sure makes the beer at days end taste great.

Klein’s backpack tool bag. Hands down the best way to carry basic trades hand tools over longer distances from parking lots, gang boxes ect, to work locations.
