A buddy of mine is big into it, so my son and I are making him something to go next to the golfer on his desk

The plan is to make the buoy red

That's really neat.

Pretty cool.

I don't water ski.

I facilitate water skiing.

Thanks. My son's figuring out that you can try something, and just cut it apart and try again if it's "off" when you're doing welding art.

He wants to do a hunter in a tree stand next.

Good on you for doing that for him.

Cool!

That is cool. I like the wakeboard better than skis, digs in better on turns. Old MFer’s can still do it.

Skiing on a river seems a lot suckier than on a nice, calm, clean lake

Shouldn't the water be blue?

Have to dodge the floating bloated cattle, playmate coolers, sycamore rootballs

Nice work.

Used to water ski quite a bit, but never crazy into it.

Very cool little sculpture.
I'm a little past my waterski days.
I started when I was about 9, went to a Slalom Ski about 11 or so and started barefoot skiing about 16 or 17.
Loved it!
I'm not sure if I've been on double skis since I was 11 or 12! Except for trick skis.
I pulled my groin barefooting when I was 49 and haven't been skiing since.
I might get up on a pair of double skis and kick off to slalom for a short ride this summer for old times sake.
64 isn't too old to do something stupid!
No wakeboarding for me. Too many girls do it!

Same here. Started when I was about 11. Quit when I reached 50. Worst crashes I ever had was barefooting.
I’ll turn 63 in a few months. Too damn old to crash. 😬

That water is pretty hard at 40mph or so!

FWIW, thats the position your buddy is trying to avoid.

He'd be impressed with tip down, weight on front foot.

Yeah, now I know how people feel when I speak "goalie" to them 😁

Gonna ski, wakeboard this summer since I’m 70 now, done after this summer, ready to sell the boat.
Posted By: goalie Re: Any water skiers? - 03/11/23
Ok, the blue base does look better. Last coat of red on the buoy and it'll be done

Toughest part about that bare footing…first thing that hits is your face! Lots of memories of it. Some were probably concussions!!

No doubt! Plus your skiing at a faster speed when barefooting vs using water skis.

I’ve seen lots of blue water, but never a black water skier.

“Pulled my groin.”

Yeah, I’m out.

Yeah.I was the dumbass that thought that being a professional water skier was a great idea...until I realized there is no such thing, unless your daddy is a boat or ski manufacturer.

Me neither come to think of it, never a black snow skier either

Barefoot…lol… we lived on a a commercial shipping route shared with 27,000 ton dry bulkers… not a lot of bare footing
