I know nothing of bear charges, but it appears a quick thinking revver saved the day.

Cubs/Den nearby..?

Scary stuff for sure, AND per usual likely no one armed.

Lets go out into the woods where big bears frequent.

Nah... Leave the guns at home. We won't need them...

I brought my rev limiter...

A one in a billion occurrence.

I guess so, but it would of been a more interesting video if the bear had beat some of them up, not too badly, just abit.

Although seldom seen, these guys are out there and need thousands of calories/day. You are just a snack and tennis shoes and bear spray are not the solution...

I have no sympathy for any moron(s) tearing up the woods and land with machines of any kind just for the fun of it.

If they all get eaten, that's fine with me.

How do you know its not private land?

How do you know its not single track open to dirt bikes?

You dont.

I don't and I don't care. Little punks outa show some respect regardless.

Or do you consider this "living in harmony with wildlife"?

Notice comments are turned-off on video? $20 says they knew the bear was there, and decided to get their YouTube moment with GoPros.

I hope the Wildlife Dept guys can track this down and arrest their punk asses for harassment.

More than those but actual real charges are dang rare.

Bluff stuff that scares folks happens often enough with moose and bears.

He knows now that he has a good partner, revving his engine to scare off the bear.
Thinkin' on his feet, right there.
Posted By: TimberRunner Re: Bear charge - 04/03/23
Worked.

I ain't carrying an ICB engine though.

10 mm will have to do.
Posted By: asheepdog Re: Bear charge - 04/03/23
He is very lucky that it worked. Certainly happened quickly. Almost looks like the bear was coming out of a hole or den near that bike. At any rate, he should be thankful it didn’t go a different direction.

Two guys were hiking in Yellowstone National Park and saw a big grizz on the trail heading their way. Travis sat down immediately and started putting on his running shoes.

His buddies quips, "you ain't gonna outrun that bear, dude!".

To which Travis replies as he jumps up after finishing the last knot "Don't have to, just gotta outrun you!"

We average 4 around grizzly maulings a year just in island park. They are everywhere up there. I pretty much quit bow hunting there after my hunting partner was charged.

The majority of dirt bike single track riders are responsible mature adults that respect the great outdoors as much as any hunter. I know, I am both.

I'll be in the Taylor Park area in August. May we meet on the trail!

Good thing it interpreted the revving engines as a danger.
