Been to a chicken drop- - - - -it left its "signature"!
We went to a book signing of a local author in order to buy a couple of his books. The dumb SOB didn’t bring any to his book signing!
I’ve axed he won’t sign the book
Like end of the school year?
No, Never had the opportunity to go to one.
I have not. I have got a signed book through the mail though.
Jimmy Carter sent my dad a signed Presidential picture... (my dad wrote some pretty rough ANTI Jimmy Carter books). It was some genuine back and forth "jabbing".
Reagan sent my dad some stuff... mom and dad met him and Nancy once (but not a book signing).
Trump has sent me some signed stuff... but I have never met him in person.
I will look for the Carter pic. The comment is hilarious.
I’ve made it to a couple of them. Showed up out of respect for the author. The first was a high school friend of mine and the other a great customer and famous record producer. Rick Hall the book and movie “ Muscle Shoals”. Check it out if you’d like to learn some music history. Good book, movie and Rick was an extremely nice man to me. I still keep in contact with his family.
Wife wanted Dinah Shores cookbook, so I went to Nordstrom's in Seattle, stood in line and got it signed.
That was back in the early 80's. Never before and never since
Yes, because I’m in it.
End of an Era by Frank Starmer. It’s about building the new and taking down the old Cooper River bridge in Charleston SC.

I too appreciate the biography of Rick Hall. I saw the the documentary while flat on my back in a nursing home. How did a poor redneck with such limited education and resources achieve what he did? Such tragedies in his life. How did local boys who loved music able to play any genre and remain in the element and have the world come to them? Such an awesome story. I recommend it highly to anyone who appreciates rock and roll, southern rock or good guitar picking. I don’t remember the exact title but you’ll find it if you google Rick Hall, Fame, or Muscle Schoals. I’m also a big fan of Rick Bragg - “All Over But the Shouting”; another Bama boy.
