Really, the determining factor in this next one is Mr. Trump. If he’s running, D turnout and enthusiasm will be off the charts again to vote against him. It won’t matter much who the D candidate is. I won’t vote Newsom, won’t vote Trump, so I’d just have to burn my vote on a Libertarian or write-in in that matchup.
If Mr. Trump is NOT running, then things get interesting. A whole pile of votes -such as mine- suddenly come into play.
I am fairly certain Trump will be running unless literally prevented by the 14th or the like.
