Homestead update - 09/30/23
Never a dull moment on the new homestead. We have the garden space nearly emptied now with the exception of the Parsnips and a few carrots. We grew a ton of food in this first year. We are already expanding for next year by about 30%.
I got out with my bow and took another big doe. Im targeting the oldest and largest does that stopped fawning. These useless eaters will feed us.
We put up some stew.
I put a trail cam over the gut/scrap pile to inventory the local scavengers. There have been many visitors.
More progress is being made on the headquarters for my bowhunting company. This will house the office, shipping/order fulfillment. I hope to be in before the snow flies.
All the dirt left over, stayed on my property. A homestead hangs onto all natural materials. I have piles of big rocks, small rocks, garden soil, etc so I had them relocate the left over fill, to another part of my property as I will use it for my root cellar build.
Im my last thread somebody complained that Im not the one doing all the work. Well duh! Ive got a company to run and bowhunting to do. Im fortunate to be in a financial position to simply hire out what needs to be done. It keeps the locals employed and the work gets done faster. They are paid in full and Im happy to check more tasks of the list of things to get done.
The last three homestead updates Ive posted here had thousands of views and many pages of comments. There is a core group of about a dozen guys (they can only be labeled fans even though they will hate admitting this) I can count on to drive the views up and create pages of comments. One guy in particular, I messaged and told him to pout and whine and then post that I messaged him and BOOM! just like that he did as he was told. So easy. He (they) will do the same here. That sort of loyalty and entertainment pleases me. Who are these fans????? You wont have to wait long, they will be here any minute. One of my most loyal fans will post here 5 or 6 times before this post reaches page #2 He will be easy to spot as I live rent free between his ears 24/7. HE IS MAD AS A HORNET and he will post and post and post. So I leave them with this.
Until next time.
