List em up if ya want.
needs and wants
Needs are show stoppers
Wants are nice to have.

Stuff ya been waiting on to get in stock or still waiting on with no viable subsistute per how you do things.

Me:

1 can pyrodex 777 FF back in stock yesterday at midsouth.
Finally....
My current can right now is over 2.5 yrs old.
Schit goes hygroscopic over time, akin to increase in size/fluff up less density up schit ( like popcorn in ways from seed to being popped) and when ya load it down the granules will crush into sand like texture almost like 3f or 4f and give ya fuuked up increased velocities and POI change.
= need for the Kodiak on monday.

Spray can of Rem Oil , part of 4 patch cleaning for hunting condition 1st shot barrel per the Kodiak ml consistency and accuracy.
= need on monday

Deer cart at Rural King
= a want, but not a show stopper.
Dragging sucks on FTCKY in places I hunt.
Getting older...
4 Wheelers only allowed on firebreaks to retrieve a kill and not out stump jumping in T Rex land to retrieve a kill.
Got mods in mind for it if I get it.

2 boxes of Barnes Vortex 55 gr. .223.
Thinking of using the AR for crap weather during rifle season.
Kill a man with a fmj bullet, can kill a deer with a Tsx bullet surely...
Many reviews per killing ability per WTD seem GTG.
Matches 3240 box velocity of M193 I got, just got to see POA and POI differences ( if any) make adjustment and log it to the noggin per a little range work
= need to get it done as schit weather contingency rifle.
Sometime next week purchase at midsouth.

Jug of detergent for hunting clothes.
= need in 2 or 3 weeks.
Wally world

Bout it for me.

Hope this ain't seen as a " inane thread"..

We bought a game cart over a decade ago after I shot a big one waΓ ay back in the woods.

IMO, it's much better than dragging, even if you have to go further to get around stuff.

I find the geographical norms interesting. Back east it seems to be common to try and get a deer out whole, with some people willing to drag a mile or more.

While in the west it's common to quarter the animal in the field and carry it out.

Interesting. No f ucking way I'm dragging, my mystery ranch or stone glacier is the deer cart.

I'm going to pickup a couple of extra freeze dried meals and other food items.

October has the potential if all the stars align to be epic. Two elk tags, a speedgoat tag, and a deer tag. Lots and lots of highway time in-between each. 19 days to get it done.
Need to get a new windshield...

In the heat of the moment... I shot from the DRIVER'S SIDE of my hood... dammit.

Until recently, we could not legally quarter the deer in the field, so, yes, field dress and drag was the norm of of necessity.
Last January I bought a CGS Hyperion K suppressor.

Hoping to get my hands on it soon.

Been thinking about ordering a Ruger Ranch to go with it, that or have my 243 Montana shortened and threaded.

This one at Rural King is like 65 bucks.
Got 15 inch hard plastic tires on it.

Mod in my head is find 20 inch pneumatic wide ground foot print bike tires.
Larger rotation arc to ground obstacles and folds in ground.
Not a show stopper per the tires but better ones would make it easier I'm thinking.
Extension of the push pull handle also would be nice I'm thinking too.
Simple bolt on fab at the house thing.

Go thru woods routes like dragging looking for path of least resistance.
Frigging firebreaks on ftcky straight track are covered in blow downs.
Forestry dose the least they can on em....
Especially when a Liberal Socialist Democrat is in office.
Repeating trend since Billy Boy I have observed.

People with Atv,s find out that pleasant surprise all the time.
Nice and maintained firebreaks for years.
Then total neglect for years.
They don't make the connection per who is in the white house and DOD funding.

That is the dumbest thing I've read today. Glad someone came to their senses.
Whole carcass here too in Tennessee and FTCKY.

Push comes to shove this year on FTCKY.
I'm sawing whatever in half at the ab and rib cage area and relay drag if I don't get a cart.
Last year's drag out of 44A with that big 8.
3.5 to 4 hrs of thru about 1300 1500 meters of T rex terrian

Little too much..
Only thing I had going for me was about 1st 6 or 700 was downhill and sleet and dusting of snow on ground.
The flat in the creek bed to the truck smoked my azz.

Yea, it really made hunting public land in the big northern woods suck after the shot.

I don't know that it'll change much anytime soon though since the "field dress and drag" thing has been engrained over many generations.
https://www.acehardware.com/departm...eelbarrows-carts-and-hand-trucks/7002866

I've used 2 wheeled deer carts, a wheelbarrow, and something like this. This garden cart was like a Walk in the park compared to the deer cart. If you bolt the deer cart solidly, it will be a lot better than leaving it as it comes, slopping around with all the cotter pins. Good luck with your purchases. I don't mind spending a lot on awesome stuff but I hate spending a nickel on junk
Anyone use a Jet Sled to get their deer out of the woods?
I need nothing.

Back when yall was taking bitches out to eat and going to Riverdance….slumlord was going over checklists and filling his supply cabinets and Tuffbins
We have a few of the Cabela's deluxe carts with bigger wheels than the current one.

game cart

Big wheels obviously make rolling over looks etc much easier. We keep a few straps on it so the Dr doesn't shift.
Could use another buddy stand 10 at my enough

I use a kids sled muzzle loading when I go for a bonus doe.

Snow helps. It sucks more pulling over logs and other crap compared to 24"+ wheels, but it's slicker than snot on snow.

Where I hunt we usually just shootem from the truck close to the road. And with all the extra hands riding around drinking beer, any effort dragging one is pretty much a nonissue.

I bought a bunch of ammo for my son to shoot and a crossbow scope. Other than that, it was just inventory, organize and train.

Got the scuba club award for my "wettest" run in competition last weekend and a G trigger. "If it ain't raining it ain't training" is a thing. 😁

Put the trigger in my lightweight AR to compare to my LaRue MBTs.
Did the same with the cart I got to haul deer across country. Put on the larger diameter air filled bike tires/wheels and put on a longer pull handle. Used an old d-ring handle from an old scoop shovel.

Slumlord came in with the assist for me with his last year per that 10 pt I shot on COE land.
Shot about 900 yards away as Crow flies thru the woods back NE corner of place, Joe average won't make the effort to get into.

Had about 125 150 yds left to the truck

My deer season ended a few weeks ago. My son is set for the bow opener here though.
Y'all reminded me I've only got a few cigars left for deer camp evenings. Tenderloin, mushrooms, onions, Texas toast and salad needs a good cigar.

I think my deer hunting days are over. Too old to cart them out by myself.

It's little price difference than 2 pellets of 777 on a per shot basis and cheaper if using 3 pellets. But yeah, the jar is spend-eee.

Never been much for a cigar.....but that sounds interesting.

Could you recommend a good cigar?

all my friends are my age group. Old and crippled up.
Don't really need anything this season except a good knee and wrist.
All gear is good.
Just need soap for my camo clothes..
The young folk in my social group would rather sleep or play video games.

I have a few jugs of pellets. Deer at 40 yards aren't something that requires extensive black powder load workups to kill.

I hunt in woods, so 40 yards is the norm.

These taste and smell better than Lucky's to me.
I shot my Ml the other day. First time in a couple years. My T7 jug has to be 5 years old. Still shot well. I should pick up some fresh just because though.

BH209 was $80 freaking dollars for 10 or 12 oz,s. Ridiculous. I have a jug I bought a couple years ago but never bought the 209 specific breech plug. I’m happy with T7 anyway.

ML in SC opens on Monday. The spot I have picked out to hunt this year has a road that runs a ridge and it drops off pretty steep. Might have a coronary getting a SOB back up to the truck. Lol. Might be cart shopping soon.

I need a 4” jag extension for the peewee rod that CVA sells with their guns. It’s long enough to load but without the extension you can’t push a patch or brush out the barrel.

I know the type..
Trust me..
Wait one..
I'm pretty OCD about what works for me per the ML.
Got my yearly long term storage clean oil in barrel thing.
Shoot the ML and that shot goes waayyy the fugg off zero like 6 or 7 inches low and 3 or 4 right.
And then go into hunting condition clean barrel routine for ML season.
ML zeroed same way off bench long ago hunting condition clean.
Took me awhile to figure out a consistent clean method for it per accuracy.

Touch off shot at end of hunt if nothing killed.
Reload shot if needed is like 1" high and 1/2" to right.
Most reload shots are coup de grace base of ear on ground anyways.

Clean per routine back at house about 20 30 mins depending on how much the Tv distracts me.
Load up next morning hit the road.
209 it outside of truck and hit the woodline.

OCD kicks my azz per hunting stuff at times.
But not really in a bad way to me.
Method to the madness thing for me.

I’m a quarter and pack guy as well. I used to just make a pack out of the buck and take them out whole where I could. I didn’t know about laws stating the deer had to be whole until now.
I need an OCD buddy to list everything needed in the boat and pickup. That would be awesome. I'd laminate it, though because I can do that at work for free as long as nobody sees me.
Hunting with the 220 on post since 2018 insted of the Kodiak has made life a little simpler for me.
Actually alot...
TN ML is only 2 weeks long and Ftcky now coincides with their opener for SG/ ML with Tn versus the last Saturday in Sept it used to be on FTCKY for decades.
Same date opener ftcky but for bow now only.

Didn't even ML hunt TN last year cause of FTCKY opener being same.

After seeing the 10 I eventually killed last fall during Tn rifle and the other buck that was on that COE land that went space ghost early Dec when duck hunters started up that 1st weekend in December.
I'm hunting that COE land on TN opener and not Ftcky opener.
Thinking I might have a good chance of seeing that buck and put in 3 or 4 mornings in a row in that escape corridor area.
Took me 7 mornings in a row last yr in that area before that 10 made a mistake finally during rifle season.
Gotta put some time in their during ML for sure this year.

Dude...
I shot right over the top of a bucks back long ago in area 41 .
Chip shot 55 60 yards away.
WTF????

Searched
Searched
Searched.

Nothing.
No cut hair
No blood blow out
No blood drips

0 blood trail.
Divet hoof trail hauling azz

Going back to stand
Sitting recreating shot lane and angle.

Finally about 80 yds out
Bout 20 30 past where the buck was.
.40 cal Barnes hole in a big pine I finally noticed.
My 3yr old can of powder
Bought new powder next day.
Hygroscopic old schit
It swells outward but will not contract

Most def grain size difference between old and new.
Could crush the old can grains with finger nail easy into sand like texture.
New can smaller grains took a hell of alot more effort to do it.

It all dawned on me what went down.
Insted of 2f burn rate
I was probably getting a 3f burn rate or even a 4f one per a 95 grain load.of 2f...

Buy a new can of powder man..πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
No needs, no real wants even. If the opportunity to buy a case of 35 Rem Leverevolution at a decent price presented itself I would jump. Bout it.
I don’t need anything but I don’t do a lot of deer hunting anymore. Sometime down the road I’ll get more into it again. My son killed his first two deer with Barnes 55 grain TSX bullets out of a 223. The blood trails were smaller but the deer didn’t go any further 30 yards or there about.
Let a "buddy" use one of my flintlocks for a few weeks during our after Christmas flintlock season a few years ago, Never again!! Had the thing so phugged with corrosion when I got it back even though I had given him very detailed cleaning instructions and had shown him after a range session! My inlines with the removable breech plugs are easy, just use the windex and patch like Goalie mentioned. Only use the inlines during our one week antlerless only October muzzleloader season and havent fooled with a flintlock in several years as Im usually bored with deer hunting and heavy into trapping and predator hunting by the after Christmas season.

Dont really need any hunting supplies this year but have been researching the newest model Thermal scopes for my predator hunting. Have a buyer for my 5 year old current one and will put that money towards a newer better one.Always looking for certain ammo when I visit gunshops though.

Same.

I’ve used it for everything from dragging bait in the woods back when it was legal to dragging deer out, to ice fishing, to towing my kids around behind a quad after a snowfall.
