Have Shot 140 rds total of frontier M193 per last range session with just irons and this one with red dot today..
Main issue for me was getting into red dot shooting again.
2008 was last time.
And yes just like when you put on a pair of glasses you experience a little bit of image shift , same with this 1x red dot for me .
1st task was to confirm zero or adjust zero from naked eye session to now looking thru a lense per the irons.
Gun was copper cleaned after 1st session.
And gun shoots better as copper is regained.
Gun will now be only hoppes power cleaned lightly.
Then a couple days before Rifle Season
Fire 5 rds of m193 and bore snake x 1 for hunting with the Barnes in crapola weather.
You solid guys can track and understand all of this per the targets and from the stuff I wrote on the tgt.
Was Happy as schit the Barnes at 98 yds didn't require a adjustment from the m193 at 50yds.
34 bucks a box for the Barnes.
So please forgive me for not shooting more.
But I seen what needed to be seen per those 6 shots.

It looks like the barrel is touching the bag. Not sure about your particular red dot but they can tend to subtend up to an inch at 50yds. The stock is sorta iffy for bag shooting. You might have better luck with a good bipod and rear bag.
I didn’t sleep at a Howard Johnson’s and I only own one AR. Mine is a Grendel. It shoots ok for what it is I suppose. The last hog I shot thought so. It took the top of his head off. (Luck I claim)
When I shoot it off a bench I use the shortest mag I have. Darned things are meant for offhand I expect.

Edit: Every day shooting is a happy one no matter how good or bad I do.

Yeah, I've got 2 ten round Pmags and 2 ten round Lancers that are used for hunting with the AR.

If I were shooting and it was my gun, I would say the barnes looks fine, a little low maybe 3 clicks up if you want to be dead on at 100. The red dot plus irons looks fine. One thing I am careful of when shooting an ar off the bags is trying to not let the barrel rest on the bags when I am trying to zero the gun. On my guns this seems to impact where the gun hits relative to my aim point, and I would not be on a bag when shooting out of a stand.

Yep. I always hunt with a 10 round Pmag in my AR-15. I carry a spare 20 rounder in my hunting pack.
