What’s the best store bought smoked sausage?
Conecuh is good stuff. Always liked Silva linguica.
If there is an eastern euro mart around, they usually have some good polish wedding sausage.

Chit, I thought you were gonna be talking about your chunky girls again.

I’ve heard of Conecuh I’ll have to look next time I go shopping. No euro mart unfortunately just Walmart and HEB.
I can get some really good stuff from the Russian Market here, which sources from all over Europe. But, my favorite American made is Conecuh.

Does Conecuh really cost $15 a pound?
Does Conecuh really cost $15 a pound?
Yep.
Imagine getting beaten and robbed in a jugging crime because someone saw you buying Conecuh brand smoked sausage. I'll stick with Johnsonville, for my family's sake.
Does Conecuh really cost $15 a pound?
2lb / $9 at the Sams club.
$6/lb at the local stores.
Conecuh is $6.36/16 oz at Walmart, but contains MSG which some people don't like.
Conecuh??
That’s breakfast sausage around here!
My have to travel east, but Veron’s is by far the best.
Or any corner store in Louisiana that makes their own.
I buy this whenever Costco Biz Ctr puts it on sale. Zero fat in this stuff.
I know it aint Eckrich, that’s for sure. Greasiest excuse for sausage ever.
Tip Top Meats, Taylor, Texas.
Them old square head Germans can throw down on some link sausage!
There's another German meat market in Muenster, Texas.
Save a few bucks and cross the street to the German bakery!
Their peach or blackberry strudel is to die for!
What’s the best store bought smoked sausage?
Where it can be storebought is part of the question. if you're in the vicinity of Ville Platte, Louisiana I suggest dropping in to this store:

Kiolbassa brand makes some killer smoked sausage. Their green label smoked beef sausage is good stuff. A bit pricey though.
Alaskan Sausage Company smoked sausage with reindeer is about the best we can get here. Goes great with kraut. I suppose it isn't available in the lower 48.

Thats one step above red skin weinnies.. 😂🤣
Opa’s Jalapeño Cheddar is my favorite. Onky ever seen it at HEB in Texas, but I’ve seen yiu can mail order it.

That's my favorite of the Opa's. I can buy it at the Brookshires grocery here. They have a nice little outlet store in Fredericksburg Texas.

My MIL always referred to my FIL as a square headed Dutchman...

“Zero” fat, bullschit. If it was 100% fat free it would fall apart and have mushy crumbly texture . It would be like eating sawdust

That's the brand I buy. Local too.

Yep. I just looked into it and the label breakdown for the fat per 2 oz. serving was in line with a few others I checked. It does look to be good stuff, I'd definitely try it.
What’s the best store bought smoked sausage?
Prasek's, whether bought over their counter, or
in your local store, or from whomever they store-brand it for.
I thought they did private label sales for HEB at one time. Maybe they still do. Even so, it looks like HEB
is selling the Prasek's labeled product.

Ain’t much reindeer meat available at the local Piggly Wiggly here. I wouldn’t mind trying it were it available.

I think we could agree on the best college football team in the SEC down here easier than who has the best sausage.

No.

You can buy it without msg direct from Conecuh. I cant get it locally in Fort Myers in anything but the original.
My hunting lease is two exits north of Evergreen AL where it is produced. The stores there have all of their flavors.
I stock up when I am there.
Those that claim they are allergic to MSG, or it gives them a headache, or …..are full of schit
This MSG Hoax all stared by some quack Doctor in CA.
He took his fat ugly wife out for Chinese food. When they got home he wanted to fuqk her in her big fat ass, she told this prominent Doctor NO as she had a headache.
MUST BE THE MSG he declared and the rest is history

I've tried it, and it is very good, but it's not the best I've come across.
I just did this last month, I went out and bought six of the sausages in town thats available/everybody can get at the store. And tasted them all at the same time . Beef by itself did not win, it was a mix of meats my notes are at home
but I do have my whole can tomatoes on my phone I bought a bunch of them and wolf them down
If I went to Costco there's a beef one that's made down in Texas I believe San Antonio spendy ass stuff it's the best I've had but you can only get it at Costco

King Soopers, today. Don't recall seeing it at Costco, but will double check. Might be a regional thing for them.
Green's Sausage House, Zabcikville, Tx. Pork/Beef sausage that Cyclone Corral BBQ sold forever. Slow smoke over Post Oak and enjoy some true Czech heritage!
Local grocery store had Conecuh on sale for 4.99/lb. I got some of the hickory smoked and some original. It's pretty darn good!

Chit, I thought you were gonna be talking about your chunky girls again.

Thank the Jeezus! I thought the same thing… another phat girl thread. Maybe we can get LBP to start posting pics of 2 skinny ones, instead, as a compromise.

Jim,
I went to college with the owner of Pittsburgh Hot Links. Name is Sabin Warrick. They are real fatty but my gosh they’re good. My Father loved them back many years ago. May be able to order online.
Conecuh is quite tasty sausage, but it sure is greasy.
