Im one of the few individuals I know who actually likes fruitcake. Here in Georgia, Claxton is where fruitcake is made and I have a buddy who sends me one as a joke.

I like fruitcake if it's made like I want it, and not with a bunch of throwed together mess like on these modern cooking shows
Collin Street Bakery used to make a good one. I haven't been there in some while, so I hope they don't have some new wave management and cutting corners and substituting ingredients and such

Collin Street Bakery (Corsicana, TX) makes a "pecan cake" that is quite similar to a fruit cake! AWESOME! Used to buy one every year. The full size is now about $75/ea. Even the little ones are about $20!
Makes me miss RenFifty and the Christmas stories of him warming fruitcake in his shìtty little microwave in the man cave then spreading peanut butter on top for a late night snack.
A thick slab of fruitcake with a cup of brandied eggnog is the treat of the season. You can substitute a hot drink like cocoa, mulled wine, hot toddy, or Irish coffee if you choose. All good.
You can also forgo the American fruitcake and get an Italian Panattone.
Wouldn't doubt it at all I haven't bought one in a while, and never bought one outside of the bakery itself in Corsicana. They always had really good cookies too. The last time I was there, there wasn't any parking spots, and you'd have to wait until somebody left

Not a huge fruitcake fan, but Claxton is the best I've had. My dad's VFW post used to sell them as a fundraiser, back in the 1970's.
I’m with ruffcut; love both fruitcake and mincemeat pie. MIL made fruitcake cookies that were delicious. I’ve been craving mincemeat pie about 4 years and can’t find the mincemeat. Must be a seasonal commodity. Can’t find pickled peaches either. Love the pickle juice with cloves in it.
Went to our AF base today they had Claxton's Classic in a box of three 16-oz loaves for $11.68. Bought that and a box of pannatone. Planning on having one or the other with 'nog tonight. Also with a cup of tea in the afternoons coming up.

They make a great door stop. I used to eat them as a kid in the 1960s, but they went down hill gradually until they became inedible. I have a theory that they stopped making them a couple decades ago and that last bunch just keeps on getting re-gifted.
