Ive never know anyone personally that was drawn(or drew😁) for this zone.
Anyone see something odd in coloration/configuration of the animals in the past 2 photos?
Yep, they remind me of what I have seen behind high fences here in Texas.

Could be from processing. Theyre all cellphone pics he txt me. Those I had to resize, then crop. We both have Samsungs and the camera software sucks. But then again, like I said theyre cellphone pics after all.
I was hunting in that state one time and near Driftwood, we saw a bull that had someone's lights from an outdoor Christmas tree wrapped around his horns. My late wife took several pictures, but I have no clue where they are. Beautiful country.

Used to go to the Denton Hills archery shoots back in the 90s and remember talking elk with the F&G guy there at the trailer they had set up. This was back when they HOPED there would be a huntable population some day. Looks like the plan is working, albeit, the 90s was a good while back.

Got em coming on pretty strong in Kentucky on the Kentucky/Virginia border too.

PAGC puts up a web cam every year on a food plot near the visitors center. This one had my attention a couple years ago. I wonder if he ever got killed. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Good to hear they got em started there...hope the population grows quick!

I lived west of Denton Hill in Coudersport for 4 yrs. Back then(2002) it was rare to see elk at camp...that zone was no hunting. Now tho they are plentiful. Doesnt take too long.
If you have facebook you can look up Elk County Outfitters.

Lately we have a couple bucks hanging around. Son-in-law got some fun videos of them sparring.
Historically Elk were east of the Mississippi River! As also Bison! Intrusion by humans pushed them westward!!
Nice to see those kind of visitors.

Not many locals around. 3 state forest run together there.

Location - in the east - most likely helped by ample limestone in the soil.
Does he get out enough to find shed antlers? That could be fun, too!

might have something to do with limited gene pool size too? Good bit of info on it.
