The news this morning was a woman with blue hair. I saw an elderly man in Meijers the other day with orange and red hair. What the heck is going on? Just curious!
I am grateful for folks who do that. It serves as a warning flag for crazy.
Florida is full of blue hairs

Perfect response.
It just means DEMOCRAT
Tats other than military tats, piercings, hair style, color...they are all factors in situational awareness, only a fool ignores unshod pony prints in Indian country.
Open Range - Charley Waite:

"Weren't the only thing he said. Most time, a man will tell you his bad intentions if you listen, let yourself hear."
neon colored hair is all the rage here

usually by under 30 overweight women with a bull ring in their nose

In nature, the least likely to copulate have to attract males with elaborate displays of plumage and mating rituals.

I figure its the same with fat goth girls
gives me something to laugh at folks for. Some take it personal. lol

Exactly.

When women do it, it symbolized hatred of men.
Usually seen on gay and lesbians and other counter culture individuals.

I'm venturing out into their territory in a few hours. Wife and I are going to Sam's club in the redneck part of town
Meh.

My GF (48) grayed really young so she colors her hair reddish or something every few months in seems. I’m in for a surprise a few times a year.
Just another fire thread about what old bitter guys hate.

Nothing to see here.

Rocky is right. It just serves as an early warning system. I am unsure of the motivation to do so. I guess many do it for attention and are not prepared for the attention they will get. Maybe it is just a follow the pack kind of thing. Either way, it does not say anything good about the person.

I find it ironic to see how people try to show their nonconformity by playing follow the leader. Weird.
I always see colored hair, goth look, multiple piercings, and such as a desperate plea for attention. It screams "Look at me".
It also alerts normal (what is normal) people to the presence of crazy.
I've always felt different about tatted girls though

a few tats in reasonable locations (not the throat, not the knuckles, not the forehead, etc) for whatever reason that just tells me she might be a fun girl to hang out with.

I can get why some guy shy away from that, while I don't want crazy, I do want one that will surprise you once in awhile.

Yep. Colored hair, facial jewelry, neck/face tattoos—they’re doing you a favor and telling you up front, “I’ve got problems/issues!”…..
Peacocks.

Hair color, style, cut, or not cut......
Jewelry, piercings, clothes, actions, cars, houses, the names they hang on their offspring..........

So many have a desperate need for attention, to be noticed.
To stand out, but the easy way. Not by quietly succeeding, not by quietly
being a kind, decent, generous person.

I'm not a pshrink, but it's not hard to see that it's a self-confidence/self-worth
problem. And tragically sad.

Best clothes, torn dirty clothes with holes,
I am what i am.
Heart and soul... character,
the rest is fluff.

Just that.
I remember when "blue hair" meant a woman was old, and it was sort of a dig.....now it just means "keep away" sort of like the bight colors on a poison dart frog or blue ringed octopus.
Guessing that queer hair colors will fade away when the Z's realize what wonderful targets they make of themselves.
Everyone has issues. Some just show you they have more issues than others.
Hair is a passing fad and easy to change, tats will fade look bad in a few years and are forever.
Everyone of them Play’d with the Quija Board to long and the Demons entered their Emptiness..

EXACTLY

Its like tats or piercings. Every last POS with them will stoutly maintain its NOT to draw attention to themselves, when in fact thats exactly what its for.

Probably been said, odd colored hair is just a distraction to some other flaws.

A tackle box face kills my fishing urge for the day.
It says I am somewhat mentally ill, I crave attention (even negative), and I am broke. Same with facial hardware and facial and neck tattoos.

That’s pretty much my first impression. Some are more obviously affected than others but I wonder what triggers them. Our US Senator, Sinema, is into that crap and she is making decisions that affect the entire nation. Everyone is crazy except you and me. Sometimes I wonder about you.
I generally laugh at the old fudds with more hair on their ears than on their heads while the are trying to figure out the self checkout.

Most take it personal which is TFF.

Not sure if that is really worse than the traditional dyed blacker than any hair found in nature with the missed strip extending down from the rear center.
I have a problem with just about everything anymore. Is it any wonder that I withdraw from the world more and more each day?
“Look at me! Look at me!”
These people are flying their freedom flag fly! Who am I to judge. Just because they are goofy.looking and can't stand themselves! It's tbeir personal problem!
I've taken to when I see some decent looking woman regardless of age with colored hair I'll usually stop and tell her, "I like your hair." That has developed into some interesting situations, all of them good. I did see one due who had green hair on the left side and red on the right. Port and starberd I guess.

Yes, especially on people that are my age or older! Lots of mentally ill folks out there! memtb

Succinct
It's a somewhat less permanent method of self-mutilation than getting tattooed. It still showcases mental illness, just not in an irreversible way like other forms of "body art".
The age of “Look at me! Look at me!”

Amen. 👍🏻
They're just kids trying out the world, mostly. Duck's Ass pompadours, long hair, mullets - trying to draw attention to themselves by shocking the old folks isn't anything new.

Dropped off a donation at the local youth ranch yesterday, girl on duty had goth makeup and nail polish, the female sandwich maker at the local sub shop has dyed green hair but still makes a good sandwich. If I have to do business with young folks I just smile and be friendly and so far 100% of them have been friendly back at me and we get on with whatever transaction we're doing.

If previous generations of DA, long hair, mullet wearing people are any indication, when they're around 35-40 or so they'll look back at pictures of themselves as teens/early 20's looking ridiculous and say, "what the hell were we thinking?!", just like the generations before them.

Now, if you're 35-40 or older and still wearing a DA, a long ponytail or a mullet, or in 2043 still wearing dyed hair...

Like with a STD?
Just the folks so configured when they're standing in the employment line or interviewing.

I'm so damned unique to begin with that folks seem to have no problem recognizing me.
Do I have a problem with odd colored hair?

No, mine has always been a routine color.

that seems to be the best response so far....
Alternate thread title: anyone else judge a book by it's cover?
Really could care less what other people do with hair or tattoos as it has zero effect on me. Plenty of fugged up people with normal hair and no tats.
It makes them stand out, easy target. When and if!
Hair dye is a cosmetic, so no permanent harm done. If they’re otherwise clean and pleasant, WGAF. Lots of tats are unsightly to me, metal in the face more so. I have a woman, so none of my business, unless I’m eating around them.

As mentioned above, crazy hair, clothes, and tats etc are often decoys to distract the eye from fat, or other negatives.

Still, it’s always a mistake to make assumptions about folks, especially if you’re going to be around them much. Take the time to figger those folks out. Might get a pleasant surprise.

Dyed underarm or pubic hair is where I draw the line. That’s other than making the carpet match the drapes, which is actually good grooming, unless green, purple, or blue…..😱
When my daughters were in high school they had ,Homecoming Day, or a big football game against their big rival, the girls would spray their hair with the school colors (green & white ) . It was washed off that night. As for the ones wandering around with clown hair and looking like they fell face first into my tackle box.........
Not my business, not my problem.
I don’t have a problem with it, just don’t like it. Not a bit, and get sick of it too. The good Lord made us all unique enough. We don’t have to mutilate ourselves to stand out as an individual.
When I see those people I always think that the circus must be in town. Another stupid thing people do to get attention. Pitiful behavior.
So you don't like it when the carpet doesn't match the curtains?
I'd prefer hardwood floors myself... 🤭

That’s because your dealing with females.
Whelenman: A "problem" not so much as I wonder.... WHY?
But, mostly, I am thankful that the lime green hairs, the purple hairs, the neon orange hairs, the blue hairs and the bizzarro "afro hair styles" let me know WHO and WHAT they are from a distance!
Let the "freak flags" fly.
I appreciate those mentally diseased useless cretins (no offense meant here scumload!) letting me know exactly who and what they are.
Problem, not so much as an "advantage" for me!
He-he.

I treat it like a warning signal. As I've aged I've noticed I have been blessed with the "Older man look" I'd not harm a mouse or raise my voice but looking at the interpersonal failure to communicate of the neon hair set both male and female I've been told by 20somethings I give off a serious vibe. It's not intentional and I can't explain what a serious vibe is it helps me make it through the day.

Anyone count the number of hands, the number of fingers on each hand, in this pic?
Remember when looking good was considered part of common courtesy?
The gal at the Walmart checkout with "eyelashes" an inch long was not impressed when I asked to borrow them to use as brushes to paint my barn. I don't think that was the "compliment" she was fishing for!
Saw a mid-fifties woman at the gun show today. Hair wasn’t odd coloured but it was a beotch cut and she had tats and piercings all over.

Actually a decent body, but she was advertising the crazy right up front.
Old guys love to gripe about younger folks doing the whole freedom to choose thing. The odd colored hair kids have zero affect on you old turds.

Yet old fudds love to judge.

I laugh at the confused old fudds grabbing Costco samples like they haven’t ate in a week.
If a girl don't have an anime body, she shouldn't have anime colored hair.
The ones that worry me are the guys/gals who must look perfect 100% of the time.

They are the ones who will really screw you over.

Perv alert
You very rarely see an attractive woman with hair colored like that. I'm not even sure if I have ever seen even one attractive gal in public with colored hair. And I don't see adding that kind of colored hair hair could EVER improve on a woman's looks. I don't like it but I'm old. Get off my lawn!
Let's see, my daughter is 30 and has lived on her own since graduating high school. She is almost done with her RN, and she put herself through school while working sometimes more than one job, as a phlebotomist. She also has two kids and is married.
She sets goals and archives them, I'm pretty proud of her but more than anything she reminds me so much of my mother who also had those same attributes. To this day people I don't know come up to me and tell me how my mother helped them when they were nursing students or worked with her, so yeah I'm proud she's so much like my mom.

But she sometimes dyes her green or purple and has a couple of piercings and tattoos, guess that makes her crazy and a bad person, I would have never known had it not been pointed out here.
Makes me wonder what you fat fuggs that are so negative actually look like. If you want negativity, this is the place. Some of you must have a very sad life.

Roger,

If I remember correctly, you daughters pretty fit, and she has a man, so for her, hair color does say much about her level of crazy.

When a woman's over weight, over 30, still single, riding the Tinder Cock Carousel, and has colored hair, she's probably crazy. Throw in excessive tattoo's and piercings as well.

These are the women who will do anything for attention except loose weight.

But for guys who want to keep it simple, on average, the fatter and more brightly colored her hair is, the crazier she is.

Do you deny that, generally speaking, a person with artificially colored hair is more often than not a crazy liberal weirdo?

Clearly there are exceptions to the rule. But that doesn’t mean that if you’re out in public and interact with someone fitting the description you wouldn’t be justified in having your guard up does it?

Look, lady, none of us care that you colored your hair. We just use it as an early warning that you're nuts. You don't have to keep posting and begging for attention.

Isn't technicolor hair, tats, and piercings the female equivalent of a CCW carrier wearing a 511 vest that screams "Shoot me first!" ????

Colored hair, hardware in the face, neck tats etc on women is generally an indication of crazy/liberal/queer.
I live in western Oregon... there's a lot of it here in the college crowd. I'm sure there are exceptions, but they appear rare.

Do y'all live in the woods? I've seen some very attractive women (but for the tattoos and piercings. )

Yea, it means "look at me" and it works. When you ride the subway for 40 years you get to see a lot.

Hi richj,
Not as far into the woods as I'd like! I live not far from a major land grant university of 35,000 students. Taught on campus for 18 years.
I've been to NYC a dozen or so times over the years.. always amazed at the caliber of fine looking women there!

Why judge a person that you don't know by their appearance? There are some obvious exceptions like when you see a chick that you can tell is a flaming liberal waiting to scream at you and call you a misogynist with her liberal arts degree, but some of us have tattoos and piercings to make ourselves unique from others. Every tattoo I have, I have because I like the way they look on me, not to impress anybody else. My dad was a boomer and much like many of you who changed his way of thinking about these subjects when he realized his kids, whom are good people did the things that he stereotyped.

For certain, it can be a dumb mistake to pass judgement on another person's character or moral fiber on the basis of a first visual impression. So, odd colored hair (and most of the other odd "adornments" mentioned) are not any immediate problem for me. But, as with many humans and animals, I am much more likely to look again, and look longer/deeper, at anyone/thing that comes across as extraordinary in presentation. That curiosity is a normal reaction when so confronted. Wariness is another common initial reaction.

So, further observation of the person can bring discovery of other oddities, as well as inconsistencies, behaviors, etc. that yield insights - evidence sometimes leading to negative judgments. The odd-appearing person seems to be asking for attention, and that attention can lead to scrutiny, which leads to you name it.

It's life - live it - wear chartreuse hair if you like it - not a problem in itself. But, but don't be so delusional as to surmise that the odd hair does not stimulate reactions, giggles, curiosities, insights and maybe ensuing judgments by others who tend to appreciate the conventional.
Yes!!
Now all she needs is tattoos, duck lips and fake boobs
If they GAF about what anybody normal thinks of them, they won't look like a freak show.

A lot of this is simply the marketing of shetty music and products to a generation that eats tide pods, can't decide which bathroom to use and is about 60% likely to off themselves before age 30.

Darwin wins again.

Those little guts have the same skin color as Trump. Bigger hands than Trump though.
Locally I have seen only a couple of attractive women with brightly colored hair. Most are homely and the bright colors don't help.
The Hunger Games scenes of Panem were filmed at random in any of our larger cities.

Most, who do that, would be better served by not drawing attention to their looks, IMHO. It often goes chubby hand in chubby hand with massive weight gain.
Hair color seems like a less permanent way to express your personality than tattoos.

My wife has a fuchsia accent patch in her hair to cover a patch of white hair.
If you owned a business and were trying to attract new customers would you put a neon colored hair freak with visible tattoos and face jewelry at the reception desk?

If you had a choice the answer is NO. Unless maybe your business is XXX videos and sex toys.

Why someone wants to devalue themselves and make a negative spectacle of themselves is beyond me. It is definitely a mental problem.

That’s a matter of opinion! 😁
There are certain realities in life. People tend to stereotype other people and you only get one chance to make a first impression. People judge other people by their appearance. Some things you can’t control, height, skin color, facial features and to some extent weight. There are some things you can control, tattoos, piercings, unnatural hair color, attire, etc. control the things you can and accept the things you can’t.

When I owned 5 convenience stores, we had a no visible tattoos policy because the stores were in a rural area with an older demographic who preferred it that way. Accommodating customers is good for business. We had people interview for positions who objected, but it was a requirement with no room for negotiations. We were threatened with law suits, but we had had 2 different law firms that specialized in employment law write/review all of our policies before implementing them. There was a little pushback at first, but when employees started cashing their profit sharing cheques most of them decided that following the rules wasn't so oppressive after all. The guy who bought the stores from me implemented his own policies that included eliminating our appearance codes, which the employees liked, and the profit sharing, which the employees didn't like.
I couldn't care less what people do with their hair. I have real schit to worry about.

I judge people all day long, every day, all year, by what they do, how they act, and how they look. It often saves me time, saves me money, saves me frustration, and may save my life. If folks want to defile their bodies or go around looking like a freak, that’s their choice. I get to make choices, too. I choose not to put too much effort or trust into folks who choose “Look at me!”, over “I’m a trustworthy/honest/hardworker!”. Nature does it, and damned if I don’t do it, too… If you’re gonna dress and act like a freak, why get so offended when people TREAT you like one?? If they didn’t “stereotype”, as well, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to look “different”. Everybody’s trying to make a statement, I make a point to “listen”.

(And it goes for the contractors who throw around the “Christian” deal a little too much, or emblazon their trucks with Bible verses as well…)

Usually the fattest or ugliest ones way of hollering " Look at me". Most would be far better off to remain hidden and silent.

Very well spoken.

If you had a choice the answer is NO. Unless maybe your business is XXX videos and sex toys.

Why someone wants to devalue themselves and make a negative spectacle of themselves is beyond me. It is definitely a mental problem.

Totally depends on the business.

Texas Roadhouse, no colored hair.

Hot Topic, Colored hair encouraged if not mandatory for women.

The demographic most businesses are shooting for is not the boomer in his pizz stained sweats and smell like soup.

Boomers tend to think they are more important than they really are.

Anyone other than an angry old white guy doesn’t care about hair color or piercings.

Shit man...I still think a mullet is weird.
Meh, folks with no self-esteem. Don’t let someone’s hair color change who you are. Or, maybe it just draws some people out?
For sure, just scope out the orangeasshole

. Yet boomers control most of the money, sure wouldn't want to target that demographic! 🤔
There’s hair, and then again there’s hair. I’ve seen women like Rog’s daughter look good with green hair, it’s usually quite apparent what sort of message is being sent with the presentation.

Tattoos used to be out there unless possibly service-related. Somewhere since I was a kid, a long time now, they went mainstream. Same thing is happening with hair color.
Crazy, or insecure, and or any number of aberrant traits. Great warning flag.

So what’s your problem little man. You seem to need a scapegoat for your failed life. Common route for failures to castigate others who have successfully navigated life. You seem to be too out of touch with real life to realize those you criticize made your life possible. But then, old guys actually do make some mistakes. Go to your local bar and pull the seats off barstools until you find your favorite dimension. Apply prn. Oh, and you are a disgusting embarrassment to humanity. Merry Christmas

Lol, Calleddumb has purple hair, gauged ears and a tacklebox face, sits in Mama's basement and wonders why he's a failure.

My wife has medium length straight blonde hair. She’s always disliked her hair because she feels it’s boring. Every once in a while she adds some colored highlights. She’s done blue, green and fushia. It makes her happy and I think it’s hot.

Today she wore boots, jeans and button down shirt. Has her own pistol and shotgun. Loves to hunt and fish. Just because someone has a hair color you don’t agree with, that doesn’t make them a liberal kook

There's a wee little bit of difference between a tastefuly done highlight job and someone walking around with a head full of bright green/blue/red hair. Just sayin...
Every single "Unique Snowflake" has the exact same nose ring, purple hair and butterfly tat on their ass...

That is how we know they are a "Unique Snowflake".

Duhh...
Hair can be changed on a whim. Who cares. Grow it dye it cut it grow it. Told my kids when this subject came up they could do as they wished on a renewable resource. I also asked them to refrain from decorative piercing other than earrings for my daughter and tattoos while I was responsible for them. Each complied and actually have kept it up. Each now in their 30s.
I have had problems with my hair turning for years now.

Turning loose!
It’s pretty universal. If you see a women dye their hair different normal colors a lot. Sure sign of crazy. One I hate is dying hair gray. I see that sometimes and am like what in the actual hell. Of course weird colors are a sign of a total breakdown in logic and viewpoint
upon giving the OP question very little extra thought

the answer is still........ no
Any time I see the unusual coloring, I wonder . . . WHY.
Pardon me, but hell yeah, the orange ass-hole's hair sucks.
My middle sister has purple hair and she just turned 70. She figures she can do pretty much what she wants.
